CBBE Bodyslide Conversion Question

Recommended Posts

I see many armors that are converted to cbbe bodyslide.  It is usually posted with the original, or a link, and the conversion files.  When I download the conversion, sometimes there are only bodyslide tools under the CalienteTools folder, and no mesh replacements.  When this is the case, I can almost never find another file with CBBE meshes.  I was wondering why this is.

Generally, when I install a conversion, I install the new meshes over the old ones.

My guess is that either:

A- CBBE Bodyslide is a separate thing from CBBE Body Type, and can be applied to multiple body types, without actually converting them to CBBE Body.

B- The conversion to CBBE body is done entirely in Bodyslide, and I'll need to install and use it in order to convert the armors to CBBE body.

...  Or C- I have no clue at all what's what.

Could someone clarify for me if it's possible to make these conversions work with the CBBE Body, and if so, how?  I've browsed the forums for a while and haven't figured things out yet.

Thanks!

Bodyslide is just a tool that uses shape data to generate meshes. When you install it, you're given options of what shapedata to install, CBBE and/or UNP.

When someone makes a conversion the base body of it must be cbbe or unp if you are trying to convert it using one of those body types in bodyslide.

E.g If you want a UNP armor in cbbe bodyslide, someone will usually create base Cbbe meshes and then shapedata to go into bodyslide.

If it's already CBBE, all you need is the shape data.

Got ya so far.  :)

So let's say I find a CBBE Bodyslide conversion posted, with a link to the original mod, which is another body type.  I download the original, and the conversion, but the conversion file only has a CalienteTools folder, and no mesh folder with the usual replacement .nif files and such.  I install both.

Are the Mesh files contained within the CalienteTools folder, and the armor only works with the CBBE Body if I have Bodyslide installed?  Or are the CBBE files for the Meshes folder needed and I have to track them down elsewhere?

If the body type to what you use and what the person who converted it says he converted it to, is different to the original file that they listed, but the conversion file only has the bodyslide shapedata then it probably wont work and you'll need to find those files. I have no idea why that person didn't list those with the rest, unless this is hypothetical.

Bodyslide has no meshes, only BSD's and XML's.

That's what I've figured.  I'm not sure why someone would do that either, except by mistake.  I've come across that twice in the past month, and given my limited knowledge of modding, I though I might be missing something.

Thanks!

If your are using a cbbe for example conversion and the original file is for say 7base.

First install the original mod, then install the cbbe bodyslide conversion, overwrite if asked, then fire up bodyslide, choose the body type and preset then choose the build button, from there select the armour you have just installed, wait for it to finish and you should now have the correct meshes for the cbbe body, the original file is used for textures and gnd meshes as well as the esp to get the armour in game, the rest of the meshes from the original mod will be overwritten by the bodyslide stuff.
