Internet Slows down when using word

So, for whatever reason, when I am using Microsoft word my internet slows down drasticly, but when I close it, my internet runs as normal again, has anyone ever experienced this themselves or is it just me that this happens to?

Hard to say what is causing it you could look in your taks manager and see what is all running and what all is being resource whores. Then try shutting down the high ones and see if that helps at all.
