slave tats face patterns disappeared

Hi, i hope somebody can help me with this. Slavetats don't work on my face anymore, not automatic like from Apropos, and i can't even add any tats via MCM. It's only the face, though, everything else works fine. I've recently updated all my mods and deactivating the most obvious mods which adds textures didn't help, even when starting a new game, reinstall slavetats, move it up/down in load order didn't help either.

Has anybody made similar experiences and an idea what i could do or which mod could cause that?

Well first off ditch the unofficial patches as they aren't supported anymore, USLEEP is the one to go with.
Other than that I've never used facial tats but I do use slavetats for body/hands every playthrough, Do you use anything else other than slavetats that gives your characters tattoos? The two could very well be conflicting.

Set "bEnableFaceOverlays=1" in nioverride.ini on Data/skse/plugins.

The reason 'bEnableFaceOverlays=1' was set to '=0' in your nioveride.ini is because you updated Racemenu. On their forum, they mention that they defaulted turning face overlays to off because face overlays were causing CTD's (Crash to Desktop) on beheading animations. If you regularly use beheading animations, you may wish to keep them off. Though mostly it was the player being beheaded causing the crashes, but it never happened to me so I don't know from personal experience.

 

Setting it back to 1 will turn them back on, they are now disabled by default.

Thanks to both of you  

My character wasn't beheaded as well and if so, i guess a crash wouldn't make my live any harder than a missing head.

I really appretiate those explanations though, and it's good to know it if my mind someday changes.
