If life was like the cartoons my ears would have steam pouring out.

I go to see a mental health doctor on Wednesday next week  my regular Dr is convinced I have undiagnosed ADHD among other things (father died when I was 12 so any acting out was attributed to that) but I am going to have a lot to talk to him/her about, not really sure how much they will be able to help the main reason for me going is I can see that I am getting close to something happening I am a fighter and self reliant but not stupid and I can see just how much I am dealing with.

Wife very slowly dying of cancer (as in I have been her primary carer for the last 18 years) no cure just certain drugs to keep a protein in check (if it rises above a certain level then multiple secondary cancers will initiate and the drugs cause slowly debilitating side effects and will not work forever) and the one rock I relied on my Mother was diagnosed with early onset dementia last year and is more like a child now.

It is like I am staring down a train tunnel and the oncoming light has two words cancer and dementia and the two people who matter most in my life I can not win this fight for them.

Reactive Depression + ADHD is not fun (if it is ADHD)

Gaming is what keeps me sane seriously modding the hell out of skyrim and then corrupting my player character in all sorts of ways gives me a little peace or playing other games anything immersive like mass effect that takes me away when I am not needed..

Any one else dealing with stuff in life and how do you cope ?

As long as you are financially stable you can hang in there but if you have money problems then things will be worse. Doctors like to diagnose people with all kinds of things mostly for fraud so be careful with this stuff.

Any one else dealing with stuff in life and how do you cope ?

Lifelong major depressive disorder and anxiety disorder, coupled with an intense social anxiety disorder that's made it nearly impossible to maintain friendships as an adult (despite incredible efforts by other people to be friends with me). Then my daughter died and my wife is a recovering alcholic and still struggling with an eating disorder. Dealing all that led to me dropping out of grad school and losing my career path, so I'm stuck working a minimum wage job that is literally destroying my body to the point where I'm in pain all the time. My son was recently diagnosed with ADHD, but at least he's intelligent and we live in Canada, so it's not a big deal and he doesn't need medication.

I cope by modding Skyrim, editing mods to make them work how I want, and playing the game. Oblivion too. It gives me a sense of control and accomplishment. Cooking does too. I also pet my cats, which helps me feel a bit happy.

I think that is one of the main points of Skyrim and Oblivion even though I do not mod myself they can be unique to you and you actually are playing the way you want to play, planning and cooking a meal, it is like an achievement, bought myself a nice slow cooker + steamer and bread baker can make sure wife has good food no matter what.

Major depression and PTSD here. Lots going on in personal/family life that are causes of stress and grief. And....in the U.S., so not the best medical/mental health care available.

Modding keeps me together. Helps sort my thoughts.

Don't let life get you down.

Shit happens whether you deal with it is your choice but it still gonna happen :)

so we deal with it in any way we can, hearing other peoples situations helps it takes away a little of that "fighting a solo battle" feeling, hell I know more than most that a lot of people are worse off than my situation and two years sitting in a cancer ward I saw so many peoples life's destroyed by a few doctors words, one step at a time, helping friends, small victories, walking the dog, cooking a nice meal. trying not to act too crazy/
