Since this topic involves animations that require Sexlab in order to work, I hope this is the right place for this topic. If not, I'm cool with taking it elsewhere.

 

Anyway, one of our awesome animators has a collection of animations that cause furniture to "pop up." Unfortunately, this can cause actors to get stuck to the furniture, therefore screwing the game.

 

As I have the habit of doing, I thought about it. I see actors using idle animations involving chairs, thrones, counters, tables, and crafting stations.

 

Would it be possible to make new idle animation markers in the CK and use them to provide places for furniture animations to take place, instead of have furniture "pop up," and possible damaging someone's save?

 

I'm interested to know the thoughts of more experienced modders on this.

I believe that is possible. Sexlab, for instance, already does this by giving the option to use nearby beds and lines actors up on them.

 

I'm not sure. But, scanning for usable furniture might be a performance drain via Papyrus. Could be a limiting factor.
