Skatekid58 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 The other day I downloaded LOOT, used it to rearrange my load order, then it said something was wrong with Climates of Tamriel so I turned it off. Then I tried to start up Skyrim but it CTD's as soon as the options of NEW,Continue, and Load pop-up. I already uninstalled Skyrim but to now avail. So next I'm going to try and delete all my 300 some mods and try again. But before I do I was wandering if there's anything else I can do before I delete them because it will take me forever to get all of em re-downloaded. Thanks in Advance
Anatriax Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Simply turning it off is your issue. I'm sure other mods depend on it.Instead, run LOOT again, see what the problem is. Normally LOOT will give you a suggested fix for the problem it found. Do that fix. Your game should then work as intended.
Skatekid58 Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 I shall try that, however how did turning of COT break my game?
myuhinny Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 If you have a mod that requires other mods to run and you turn part of it off it will cause a CTD as there will be missing masters. I always run TES5EDIT to check load order.
Skatekid58 Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 Yeah I do to but there are no conflicts or missing files none of my other mods require COT, and all LOOT tells me to do now is download the compatibility patch for the wilds and COT. Even though I dont use the Wilds.... Now I tried turning off all my mods and do a Vanilla start up but it still CTDs....I use menu replacers do you think it possible that that is messing it up?
Skatekid58 Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 Whelp I went ahead and deleted everything thx for the tips.....
Anatriax Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 There are honestly so many things that could have gone wrong with an install that it's really hard to tell what happenedEspecially with the tiny bit of information we were given. First of all, this post is in the wrong thread. It should be under Tech Support, not General Discussion. Second, read this post: http://www.loverslab.com/topic/8534-please-read-before-posting-here/Give us the requried information, next time. We might be able to help more.
