Construction Set: Adding Bodies to Races

Does anyone know how to change the body NIFs for races in the CS?  Or can point me to a guide?

Several mods have races, or even NPCs, that have their own bodies (e.g. Gweden Brothel), but I can't find out how to change them or add one to my own created races.  Changing the body textures is just a click of the button, as are NIFs for heads, hair, teeth, etc.  But where are the body NIFs hidden?

I've been searching all day for some guide or whatnot.  I've even (god help me) looked for guides on YouTube.  But even the vids there skip over bodies.

Yes, I know I can use SetBody.  But I'd like to not have to.

"How can you berate men for lust, Reverend Mother, when even you have to admit the Gods have stacked the deck against them there?  Take the female breast - all curved and enticing, perky and inviting.  They seem designed more for a man's destruction than a font for squalling babes....Why couldn't they have made them blocky, or bottle-shaped?

Though, to be truthful <Burrrrp!>, bottle shapes tend to lure me even more."

At the top of the screen, find "Character". Click that.

You'll see a drop-down menu, one of the options is "Race..." Click that.

Now, one of the tabs in the menu that poped up is "Body data". Click that.

You've found it. Go crazy.

Thank you, but let me repeat:  I want to change the NIFs.

The Body Data screen only shows the textures, and the only NIF button is for tails.

Some NPCs look as if they have a different body , but the clothes/armors are with body. The armor/clothes are for another body .  That's why e.g. Gweden Brothel or companions with unique clothes seems to have different bodies, but nude they have all the same body.

You can use BlockHead:  good if you want to change many NPCs , you can add bodies to Races, factions or specific NPCs.

If you only want a different body for player and a few NPCs you can use SetBody (In game:  SetBody self spell for Player and SetBody target for NPCs), but if you want to change many NPCs you need hours to cast the spell on all the NPCs.

----

And then you have the next problem. If you have changed a whole race all the race-NPCs have a different nude bodie, but ALL NPCs use the same armor/clothes replacer , so with clothes ALL races seems to have the same body.

So for Mod NPCs with unique clothes you can add the right body with BlockHead or SetBody target spell. And Player and companions can use armor/clothes for their correct body.

Thank you, both.

I'm familiar with the Setbody and Blockhead actions, but thanks fejeena for the in-depth commentary.

I did a little more investigating and you're right, even Gweden's nude bodies are listed as "clothing" in the CS.

However there are a few mods that seem to have made a workaround.  One of them, for example, is a Russian mod called XtraRace (if this mod is verboten to speak of, because of loli content, forgive me.  The others are in Japanese which I can't translate) , a mod similar to Children of Cyrodiil, that creates races that seem to have their own bodies (though CoC doesn't).  That is, they can be stripped nude and the separate body NIFs show.  In the case of XtraRace the male and female of the child races share the same upperbody, while having separate lowerbodies.  I've been trying to figure out how this is done, as I'd like to change the models to something older.  I like the setup -you can have parents, children or siblings as companions- but I'm just not into the little kids, who look like they're under five years old.  Changing the NIFs is easy, but how to separate the male and female upperbodies so I don't have androgynous NPCs or boys with breasts?

The mod's probably set up to equip certain items when the NPCs aren't equipped with anything else.

These items are probably set to unplayable.

You can know for certain if you use the CSE and look at the scripts.

The CSE will highlight every record altered by the currently activated mod and list them all at the top.

Also, yes, loli content is not welcome on this site, so do not link nor post anything related to it. I don't think you'll get in trouble for discussing the technical side of things, but to be on the safe side just say "In one particular mod" rather than the mod's actual name and don't even mention it contains such content.

Ah.  Now that I hadn't checked for.  As for scripts, I've been searching, but I haven't seen anything.  'Course I really don't know the script language well enough, yet.

Thanks for the warning on ...er...the other stuff.  A bit hard to follow through, since that's what I'm trying to remove.  Strange, though.  Since this site allows x117, HiyokoClub and the like.

x117 isn't loli (short isn't equal to young and the default bodies are clearly mature).  Hiyokoclub has zero to do with loli, so I don't have a clue what connection you are making there.

The rules if you take the time to read them are quite clear as to what is and isn't allowed and if you click on the link for rule 13 it tells you the why behind it.  Forum rules:  http://www.loverslab.com/topic/292-rules/?p=6248

Apologies. I only mention it because many [unnamed] websites I've visited ban x117 and even x110 mods on the conviction of being "loli".  Some even ban clothing that is B-cup or less.  And any mod that allows sex and having children -who don't arrive in the world fully grown, that is- would immediately be banned by almost every one of these same sites on the same conviction, citing the pornographic potential inherent within.  I haven't played HiyokoClub yet, but from the posts I've read it seemed thus -wrongly, as it turns out.  But it seems, for a lot of people, short does equal young.

I neither judge nor condemn, I merely observed in ignorance.   I have read the rules (I do this right after joining with all boards), and have no intention of breaking them intentionally.

Er.....

Anyway, again I humbly apologize for any insult or misunderstanding, on any party's part, full or partial.

I'm going to shut up now.  I don't like the taste of shoe leather.
