Guest Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I have presently installed Win 7 professional 64 bit. I had a chance to install Win 10 Enterprise 64 bit to my neighbor yesterday. He bought two copies, for him and his daughter but she gave me her copy. She didn't like it. Does anybody knows if the upgrade of Win 7 pro to Win 10 Ent. will work because I would hate to install all from the beginning and I like what I saw in Win 10. Thanks for advises.

She watched when I installed her father's version on his computer. When done, she said that she doesn't like the way it looks and that I can keep her copy for free. I didn't installed that Win 10 yet on any computer. I wanted to check first if it will work as an upgrade. So I'm waiting for responses. If it will not work as upgrade, I will wait some time to do a new install since I reinstalled Win 7 Pro. recently.

This is what my Windows 10 Task Bar looks like, please don't mind the large amount of tabs I have open since I can't fucking close a tab for my life

RitualClarity Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 I always do a full install never an "upgrade".. I find it better for a clean full install. It is a pain but in the end there is less chance that something goes wrong and screws up your upgrade. That being said I have heard that their new upgrades are working quite well from many I know in RL and I am pretty sure Windows is working on any of those glitches inthe past that might have caused problems because they like the new "upgrade for a limited time" option to bring everybody into the current windows version.
Guest MonsterFish Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 Generally IMO Windows 10 is a mixed battle. As a person that moves a lot of files around constantly (Duh, I'm a Skyrim Modder. In the user sense) I like to use Windows 10 since it has the option to turn off the annoying 'Merge Files' splash screen. Pinning files to the side of the File Explorer menu is great too. On the down side a lot of software no longer work since they're no longer supported by Windows 10, that and the UI on the menu screen sucks without Classic Shell. Also for the first few days my internet speed was clocking about 200 Kb/s since my internet decided to switch to the 2.4GHz bandwidth without me realizing.

I say stay with Windows 7 little (big) longer too, Remember Windows 10 is still new (and full of rubbish) And about Skyrim if you maintain it well, it will NEVER go crazy. P.S. Good day to you friend
bjornk Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 Don't go asking for trouble, seriously. You don't want to waste your time trying to solve potential problems if you do the "upgrade". Spend the time you have playing games, doing the stuff you enjoy instead. You might want to try out a new OS if and when you're going to build a new computer, otherwise it's a waste of time.
