Advint Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 A friend and I recently started a YouTube channel which, while it isn't specifically adult oriented does contain Fallout 4 content. Thus I am faced with a dilemma; in order to get viewership for any youtube content you need to almost shamelessly self promote yourself, and one of the target audiences resides on this forum. So the question I pose to you all is two staged: A: is it respectable to post such self promotion hereB: [Which I am more interested in] What form should the self promotion take blog post, or forum thread? Obviously of the two the forum thread would ensure the most viewership. You will note that I have not named the channel thus far, and am refraining from doing so until such a time that I find it acceptable to do so.
myuhinny Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Blog might be better not sure though as I have never used the blog here but a thread could easily get buried from other threads.
Guest Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 You may get some views from members of this forum, but not expect a big hit. The best forum is: Fallout 4 General Discussion, if there is no adult content (but because it is Youtume you don't have adult content.)
gaggedgirl123 Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Honestly, yeah, the general discussion forums is where it's at. And don't feel bad about promoting yourself, anyone doing something by themselves HAS to do it, and the worst of it is, the initial kick is the hardest, becasue it never seems to take off (I've been posting a LOT about my music channel, even put it in my sig here, and my latest song (from november) has 66 views.) (not a shameless plug... lol) Now the thing is, how will you advertise your content? I can tell from experience that "hey guys, check this out and tell me what you think" doesn't tend to work too much.
