Question about BSShaderTextureSet and BSShaderPPLightingProperty and how to add them

Good thing I copied this before hitting enter or I would of had to of done it all again because of a clodflare error.

I have a question regarding BSShaderTextureSet and BSShaderPPLightingProperty. I need to know how to add those to a nif.

Recently I have been messing around with outfit studious and found out that you can get fallout NV nifs into it. I can get them into it then I delete out all of the shapes that are not needed then if needed I move the outfit to better fit the body being used. Then remove all of the clipping once I am sure I have everything how I want it I use export nif with reference. You must make sure it is how you want it because after exporting you will not be able to load it into studious again without it crashing it.

Next I run it through mesh rigger to remove all of fallout nodes and replace them with skyrims nodes. After that I use a copy of the unaltered body which is the same as the one in the outfit it's just that the unaltered one isn't smooshed and what not. I run the dress through the clothing converter and convert everything which also fixes the smooshed body the clothing converter removes the old BSShaderTextureSet and BSShaderPPLightingProperty fallout uses NiMaterialProperty so it wouldn't of worked with skyrim anyway.

So now I need to find out how to add a BSShaderTextureSet and BSShaderPPLightingProperty to it to get the textures back. Can you just copy them from the original nif and paste and somehow attach them to that item or what?

Sorry that I haven't replied to your message earlier. For the BSLightingProperty, I usually just delete (ctrl + del in Nifdkope) the one exported from 3ds max and copy branch (Ctrl + C) one from a template Skyrim nif and pase into the nif, then change the texture path according to the original nif. Hope that helps.

I forgot to mention that I don't have 3d max I do have blender though I have never really used it at all. So to do it you have to have a 3d tool like blender or 3d max?

You don't need to because I think the Mesh Rigger already weighted your outfit for you, so just delete whatever BSLightingProperty branch in there and use my method.

The outfit has everything in it but BSShaderTextureSet and BSShaderPPLightingProperty.

I thought it was the clothing converter that removed the BSShaderTextureSet and BSShaderPPLightingProperty but it was actually mesh rigger that removed them. I think they were broken after exporting from outfit studio as the textures never worked after that.

Before running it through it there are 2 errors that pop up when loading it into nifskope both are a device position incorrect after block number error.

Well, at this point, can you send me the converted files with the original? I will help you fix that

The rar contains 3 nifs the original the original after outfit studio but not run through mesh rigger and the 3rd one has been converted and ran through mesh rigger.

Works perfectly in nifskope. Thank you very much. So to do this you had to do it in 3dmax correct?

Nope, I didn't use 3ds max. I just copy the BSLightingProperty branch from one of my Skyrim conversions (click on the node then Ctrl + C), then paste it into each part of the outfit (click on the ShapeData node -> Ctrl + V), then I fixed the texture paths

Cool will have to try that I have all kinds of fallout NV stuff to throw into outfit studio. I got it into game and tried it on and no dress smacked forehead as I forgot to change the dismemerment in the nif to body. Went back in and everything worked fine minor clipping on the butt when kneeling but that can be easily fixed in nifskope if needed.  I posted a few screenshots of the dress in game. Thanks again for the help.

I think I understand it now and have gotten one thing to work now. But I did notice a few things that might of been wrong. When you say copy the *BSLightingProperty branch* I think you meant BSLightingShaderProperty I searched for a bit and then was like I don't think there is one like that and brought up the block - insert and looked at the list. 2nd part I was pasting and trying and nothing was working I was pasting into the only thing that had *ShapeData* in it's name after a bit I clicked the outfit and tried right clicking that line and pasting it in and it worked. For me I would of just stated click the outfit the line that highlights that's the one to paste it into.

Also should note that you should only copy the BSLightingShaderProperty for a item piece and not the body BSLightingShaderProperty or the CK will spew out missing texture errors and then die.

But other then that everything is now going great and I have another thing textured. :)
