Maddog284 Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Hey guys, I've been using Sexout 2.58 with very little minor problems and most pluggins (with the exception of a few) work very well, however, this new update that i got causes the animations to not work. The dialog is there but I can't activate any animations...I tried for a week now playing around with different files and folders and i'm officially stumped. I tried looking through Tech Support to see but I couldn't find it (or maybe i missed it) but here's what I did... -downloaded april 15 update of sexout NG (I think its 2.60?) - copied folders into data folder of fallout - download SCR ressources and copied textures and meshes - nvse.extenderv5 was copied directly into fallout folder (however some people suggested to put it into another folder, just not sure which one) I think those were the 3 main crucial updates to getting it to work My load order was the same with 2.58 but when i start the game, it says sexout 2.58 still but the animations do not work. Curious though because the new pluggins have different Sexout_1.3.5?.esm.bak files. Should i add those in with the others? or delete the old ones and add those in. (Tried both and still no success) Anyways, if someone could help me it would be appreciated. Thanks.
Guest Loogie Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 - nvse.extenderv5 was copied directly into fallout folder And that's your problem. Read the instructions for it.
teremaster Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 this also provided me an answer to the exact same problem. thank you, loogie.
vouge_lee Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Gold Mine!!! This solved everything...Sorry for annoying some moders with my dumb questions,... Lucky I stumbled into this,.. Now I can appreciate the masterpiece of work Sexout!!! KUDOS to all MODERS you guys are awesome!!!
prideslayer Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I may have to, once again, revisit FOMMs source. The only reason this happens is FOMM is trying to protect you from yourself, and refuses to install DLLs. So I can either hack FOMM so it works with any file extension, or I can make a full blown installer (windows installer / wise / whatever) for one stinking DLL. I like the idea of fixing FOMM more because it would allow me to stick the extender in the sexout download, FOMOD the whole thing (which I need to do anyway), and end these kinds of problems once and for all.

[/quote'] I think there might be risk in installing .dlls silently? Perhaps you could include a yes/no/cancel for .dll installation (or exe, com, bat, ... anything that FOMM currently refuses to install)
prideslayer Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 That shouldn't be too difficult to add to the mod activation part. Installing a mod via FOMM just copies the files in the archive to a staging area, it doesn't put anything in the fallout directory until you activate it after installation.
