[Mod Idea] Alternative start as a ghoul

Just a little Idea I had, trying to escape Sanctuary Hill in the prologue.

 

Indeed, when you don't go to the vault and go ahead to the bridge behind the military truck, the bomb explode and you die.

 

It would be great that, instead of dying, your character felt uncouscious and wake up later, transformed as a ghoul (with change in the gameplay like invulnerability to the radiations).

 

To make the link with the main quest, we can imagine that your wife (or husband) go to the vault, not following you.

 

Here's two directions:

-Let the possibility to the player to wander the Commonwealth as he wish and start the main quest when you enter the vault and see what happen via surveillance camera.

 

- Or Imagine that Vault dwellers go outside to explore the surrouding (Like in Fallout 3), find you still living but horribly disfigured (no sh*t!) and decide to bring you back to the vault, put you in the cryo pod hoping it will help you to survive.

 

I have no talent in scripting nor modding in any way so if someone is interested by my little scenario, feel free to use it when the tools will be released.

Interesting but still need to get 200 years passed somehow, maybe just after the bomb some Hazmat suit guys find you and take you to vault and put you on ice and you ghoulify during cryo

I Had the same idea. it would make for a great addition to the game.

Wake up, your husband and child aren't there at all. Maybe they're ghouls too? Thus, you go out searching. But, as there isn't any IMMEDIATE worry, you no longer have your character occasionally whining about their baby.
