shadow866 Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Hello! I was wondering what causes HDT hair to double when moving(cloned hair). It seems hair and hairline meshes doesnt sync with each other and moves their own way so it looks like you have double hairstyles at once on you. Anyone manage to find a solution for this or whats causing it? Been scratching my head for a while now but i just cant seem to find a fix for it. Thanks.
canderes Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 If both the hair and hairline are identical nifs then it is better to just remove the hairline altogether otherwise you get stacking nifs, but each hairpart will be treated as a separate object when they load. Hair and hairline are supposed to be separate parts, but a lot of hair mods have a bad habit of reusing the same nif twice in two hair parts. If that isnt the cause then the person who made the conversion hard copied the models twice in the same nif, the only solution for that is to get the person who rigged them to take them back in the editor and remove the cloned elements.

Sorry, but it is easy to see that none of those are the case. KSH is one of the most well made if not the most well made hair pack for Skyrim. All of the hairparts and hairs are separate NIF's with marginally different meshes and names. The NIF's do not contain any kind of duplicate meshes, and thousands of people use KSH HDT without any issues. I use the same hair pack and have no such issues whatsoever. Shadow886's problem is most likely on his end. Shadow886, if you can answer these questions, we may be able to narrow it down. 1. Have you confirmed that your XPMSE is installed correctly? 2. Are you using the latest Racemenu or ECE? If not, what character editor do you use (including vanilla / showracemenu)? 3. Is it possible that this is happening with all hairs, and you only notice with KSH because the hairs are dynamic? 4. Have you tried other sets of HDT hairs?
shadow866 Posted November 2, 2015 Author Posted November 2, 2015 Indeed. I have noticed that some people have the problem but for others it works perfectly. Maybe it depends on your personal XML data since there are alot of different ones out there. My xml data is a bit old so i guess i could try a newer version. And ya skeleton should be installed correctly but i can take a second look. Im using latest version of Racemenu. And no i havent tried other hdt hairstyles in a while now. So i cant be sure if all hdt hairstyles are the same. Latest HDT hair i tried was http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/47000/? ( Skyrim Hair Physics Project) and that worked fine. But its pretty old edit: Yeah my xml data might be outdated. Seems to work when i change to a later xml data file. But my hdt body also changes shape with the newer xml data so problaby not worth it for my part.
randomr2259 Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 There should be a HDT patch at the KS Hairdos Nexus site, install it. Also I had this issue with the HDT Object. Instead of using it better attach the .xml to your head.

I don't know exactly what I did, but in the end I got everything to work. I attached the .xml files to body, head and HDT fingers or so. Works fine now for me, even with armor which supporst HDT and all collisions working. With NIFscope I attached the proper .xmls to body, head and hands.
Guest Posted September 29, 2016 Posted September 29, 2016 The HDT Havok Object, when used with this hair pack, causes the doubled hair. Also, if both are used together, the nipples will occasionally 'follow' the motion of the hair, resulting in a fairly bizarre twitching boobs scenario. Simplest fix is to remove the HDT Havok Object. While the arm/boob collision is cool and all, how much do you really notice it during actual gameplay?
