Can't Play Any Saves

Hello Loverslab, 

 

I have an issue where I crash everytime I try to load a save, and I can, sometimes, start a new game and play. Once I exit out however, kaput, can't load the save. I've tried everything I know, including trying to load saves from the LAL cell. I am desperate, because I have my perfect setup, mod-wise, and have rather slow internet. List has been sorted by Loot and I've tried deactivating recent mods and nothing. No matter what I do I cant seem to load any save period. Anything noticable that i might have missed? I'm just lost trying to do this.

You have 277 of 255 max plugins. Didn't count how many of them are active but the max plugin index # is 253 (base 0 + FF IntInd = -2).

The savest max # of plugins is 180 to 185 (this is an estimation, based on not to many scripted mods).
i don't know how many of them are scripted either, but if the problem persists after disabling quite a few plugins (merging solves this problem to a degree) then try to get rid of (heavily) scripted mods and don't forget to clean your save from those mods before loading the save.

Loading from a safe cell like the LAL cell or (even better) QASmoke is still recommended.

And that is counting the esm's and esp's...

Note: if you use Mod Organizer you can go over the 255 limit on the left, but only if the esp/esm count stays under 253 active (IE you have some texture mods, or mesh mods that have no esp's as they replace vanilla bits and you want to keep the folders separate).

 

Set your load order with loot, clean the save file with the "Save file script cleaner" http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52363/? then load skyrim and from the menu screen open up the console and type in "coc qasmoke" this will put you in the qasmoke test room.

From there load the cleaned save file and see if it will load or crash.

 

Also CREATE your saves in a cell with a minimal amount npc's and junk.

Like in any of the vanilla player homes, in small caves with a small space and very few animals/creatures/npc's etc.

 

I tend to create my saves in Proudspire manor (the Solitude home) as its not to big and doesn't have much cluter or npcs (I usually don't unlocked the house carl for solitude either).

So Qasmoke is just an infinite, as far as i can tell, loading screen. Is it just an insanely long loadtime, cause it use to be pretty quick.

I might be able to help u stabilize this with wryebash and tes5edit. im guessing you use NMM though. im more familiar with MO haven't used the NMM in awhile.

if QASmoke from the main menu takes this long to load, then something is completly messed up with your mod installation.

Start all over or disable all mods until the game is vanilla + USKP and then start enabling one mod after another, using the trial and error method.

You ofc start the game (QASmoke) after you enabled at max 5 mods, to see if the game still loads.

main menu taking a long time to load is normaly caused by 2 things

 

1. a mod that starts with the game is throwing bucket load of errors

2.(this normaly ccauses long load time at start fo rme) is lots of hd textures. before i used one of the texture compressors my game would take a good 5min to load at times from htting play to the start menu.

 

i use to ccrash lot on loading savves and found it was due to mods overwriting each other. if u on NMM will ttake u a ton of time to figure it out. on MO takes me 5sec to see if a mod is overwrighting and figure out if it cant or can be allowed.
