lindazana Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 SO...it's been a while since I last roamed the 3DM games forum, and decided to take a look again. Finding a neat download, I went to reply and give my thanks for it being shared...but the forum now has an additional verification step for posting. You still have to do the normal number/letter captcha...but now they also have a history/culture question. My google-fu is too weak to answer them the way it wants it to be answered. I'm curious if anyone knows a way a round this, or just has the brute-force method of sharing a copy/paste set of answers to the various questions?
quin666 Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Same thing happen to me couple days ago.. Log out log back in enter captcha letters when at password screen, after that all good for me. First time I ignore captcha when signing in.
lambient1988 Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Oh God, this is going to be a huge problem.
lambient1988 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Nobody having an issue with this? I cannot post on the 3DM forums now. Most links need a reply to the thread to be viewable.
zzz72w3r Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Try again. I just made a reply on 3DM and captcha is now gone. The idea was so stupid I wonder how it got implemented in the first place. Only reason I can think of is that some people have been selling 3DM points on Taobao (Chinese ebay/Amazon) and worst idiots have been willing to pay so post bots might have been a problem.

God damn noobs. Now everyone suffers because of them. I managed to makena few posts using Google Translate but my verification won't go away. I guess In will have to live with it.
zzz72w3r Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Try log out, log back in and enter captcha at log in prompt. Might have to clear cookie.
lindazana Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 Will try the relogging thing. Thanks for the help, and sorry for the delay. Let's just hope that stays a solution and doesn't get worse. We really don't need another forum withdrawing again.
lindazana Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 Delayed response: Nope. Logged out, ran crap cleaner with everything removal, and the questions are still there. They also apparently need the answer in the local text, as once, the question was what country Putin represented, and it wouldn't accept "russia" or "Russia". Blast.

Even if you entered it in Chinese?

Now captcha is only required during login prompt for me and it's also the basic alphanumeric version.
lindazana Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 Perhaps it's rank associated? I only have 15 points there. It might not bother those that are the next rank up.

All you need to do is use Google Translate to translate the question, get the answer in English, translate the answer to Chinese, enter it there. Done. It's that simple, use some logic.
lindazana Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 The problem is having to look up foreign facts and -hope- you properly understand the question after the conversion to english, translate it over, again hoping it does so correctly, and pasting it seems a tad excessive for a reply. And it's especially inconsiderate seeing how many of the threads there lead to this board and it's downloads (which aren't held for ransom under a post count or double captcha-locked reply)

And it's especially inconsiderate seeing how many of the threads there lead to this board and it's downloads (which aren't held for ransom under a post count or double captcha-locked reply) I have made over 20 posts now. The translate idea is working fine for me.
