Wrye bash usually tells you what the colors mean when you hover over the tickbox, albeit not very clearly (on the bottom next to the little icons).

Orange means that the masters have been reordered and they are active in the loadlist. Green means active in loadlist. And if the bashed patched is red, it means the patch is missing a masterfile (after you uninstalled a mod), so you have to rebuild it in order to work.

Best thing is to have LOOT order your modlist and not move things in wrye bash.

Hope this helps.

yea i have loot and everything but you say do not touch those reordered masters? And another question... what exactly i do need in bashed patch... like names, stats or only lvl lists and merged lists?

I am asking because i also use TES5Merged patch so ... dont know if names and stats should be integrated with bashed patch

i am getting now the error message

ubyte format requires 0 <= number <= 255
<bash.brec.ModWriter instance at 0x10652CB0> LLCT B (261,)

Is it safe for game?

Wrye Bash will automatically detect (and ask you to unselect) leveled lists, so those will automatically be merged.

You have to select every option that has content in the right window and select the content in the right window, if it isn't already. This will usually be in Merged Lists, Import Names, Imports Stats, Tweak Settings (if you made changes there) and Leveled Lists. But check to be sure.

And again, Wrye Bash will automatically detect everything that needs to be included in the patch. So just follow it's lead.

About the error:

Did you re-LOOT your modlist before rebuilding the patch? I have never seen an error message from Wrye Bash to be honest, so I have no idea what that would mean, unfortunately :-\

I will assume you are using ModOrganizer, so try to delete the Bashed Patch "mod" in the left pane, re-LOOT your modlist, then rebuild the Bashed patch and save. Hopefully that will correct the error.

I just got a brainwave (ouch! it hurt)... could it be you have more than 255 mods installed? Or perhaps a mod that uses very long path names? Windows can only read path names that have a specific length (I believe less than 255 characters).

Edit:

Did you install 0Sex? I read that mod uses (used) very long patch names and could cause problems with MO.

Well, I did a google search and I found this: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/478460-wrye-bash/?p=22389129. It does appears to be that you have more than 255 mods/ plugins installed (apparently 261). The post below that explains how to find the culprits (disabling mods to find which ones are over the limit). Sorry :(

Edit:

oh, it gets worse... there are 2 more messages about it on the next page...

What the error means is that somewhere in the merged data there is a container/leveled list that has more than 255 items in it (other leveled lists count as 1 item not the number of items in that list).

Orange also means that the master files are not sorted properly.

To sort them properly you need to start up TES5Edit and load the plugin (.esp) that's orange in wrye bash then right click it and select Sort Masters.

After that save and close TES5Edit and open Wrye bash, if it no longer shows as orange then its fine.

What are the consequences of a plugin having its masters sorted wrong? CTD, I assume? I notice prison overhaul seems to have been released with the sexlab.esm and zazanimationpack.esm mixed up. I tried reordering them once and several other mods suddenly went orange, so I changed it back. I didn't realize until now you could fix that with tes5edit.

Figure out what mods are adding items to the same things and pushing it over the limits. The easiest way I can think of is to load the bashed patch in TES5Edit and look through leveled lists and containers to see which one it is (there may be multiple).

Fixing the issue once you found the culprits is harder:

1 - Remove one of the mods causing the issue (worst case scenario)

2 - Don't merge one or more of the mods into the bashed patch (items won't appear where they are supposed to and you will have to not add the mod to the patch each time)

3 - Modify the Bashed Patch by removing a few items from the container / leveled list causing the issue (some items won't appear where supposed to and will need one each time the patch is made)

4 - Modify one or more of the mods by placing the items into a leveled list then put that list where the items were at (everything should work as normal but is the hardest to do)

ok i had too many loot mods... immersive loot and expanded jewelry and unique trasures an dragonborn galery etc... now i only have removed expanded jewerly leveled list esp and now it works.

immersive loot and skyrim unique treasures add mostly same stuff but unique treasures does not have dragon eggs i believe... and  expanded jewerly only adds plain jewerly without enchantments... so who needs that.

Thank you for advice!

Expanded Jewerly shouldn't be needing if you have Complete Crafting Overhaul, in it's MCM at Mod Options tab it has a checkbox for Jewelry to add them in crafting and leveling lists.
