Farbgast Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Is it safe to teach followers (via console) non vanilla spells? I heard it could cause some papyrus errors. If it does, is it safe to teach the followers with different non vanilla spells if they're under the same mod?
Content Consumer Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I'd guess it depends on the spell. I've given followers nonvanilla scrolls (from Apocalypse spells) and they do seem to use some of them properly.
NickNozownik Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Usually it works without any issues. Just don't teach them scripted spells like the ones from Forgotten Magic mod. They will use the basic non-upgraded versions of spells or won't use them at all. Simple non-scripted spells from mods like Phenderix Magic will work properly.
Farbgast Posted September 7, 2015 Author Posted September 7, 2015 Phenderix has an awesome series of spells. It's great to hear it is safe to use them. But the one I'm referring to is colorful magic. Are they scripted or not?
Content Consumer Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I believe that Colorful Magic is just the same vanilla spells with different imods, lights, etc? If so, it should be just fine.
NickNozownik Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 It has very few scripts that are probably attached to spells, like "cccMagicReflectionScript" or "cccFrenzyStormScript" but they should work properly with followers. Anyway you can try this just in case: 1. Save your game right before adding any spells to your follower 2. Add them and start combat with something 3. If it crashes or causes weird bugs then reload
Farbgast Posted September 7, 2015 Author Posted September 7, 2015 I have added a spell to 2 followers but so far nothing happened. Probably because I didn't see them use it. But I can remove it if it does. Well, thank you both for your help.
