EdinMG Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I need you help guys, I don't know why but for whatever reason, Grass on Steroids simply refuses to work for me, I was using Verdant on my previous playthrough and decided to change to GoS for my new playthrough, ok, but it's not working, I installed the mod and placed its plugin right after SFO and nothing, I have only SFO grass in-game, I even checked my modlist on TES5Edit and the only conflicts are with SFO, which are supposed to exist, anyway, I'm posting my ini settings for grass, maybe there's something wrong with them... Skyrim.ini iGrassCellRadius=2bAllowCreateGrass=1bAllowLoadGrass=0bGrassPointLighting=1b30GrassVS=0bDrawShaderGrass=1iMaxGrassTypesPerTexture=7iMinGrassSize=80 SkyrimPrefs.ini b30GrassVS=0fGrassStartFadeDistance=9000.0000fGrassMaxStartFadeDistance=7000.0000fGrassMinStartFadeDistance=200.0000bAllowLoadGrass=0bAllowCreateGrass=1bDrawShaderGrass=1
Zerosleepless Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Grass on steroids does not introduce new types of grass , it increases the grass's dencity , size ..... without much fps loss. A quote from GOS's mod page: =======================================================================What Grass on Steroids does:======================================================================= Finally, a grass density enhancer mod that can boost your FPS instead of slowing you down - it makes grasses denser, taller and more realistic by unevenly distributing them. Now you can Create challenging grasslands for enhanced combat experience or simply make your game prettier (or have both) - all without worrying about FPS lag!1. GRASS DENSITY INCREASED DYNAMICALLY - densities are individually set to the maximum amount applicable to each individual grass type (unlike other mods that just puts everything at 100% or 300%? density). Most densities are set above 100% with increments, so you'll get real thicker grasses.2. GRASS HEIGHT INCREASED - makes grasses taller, with uneven height distribution for a wild-mix look. This was carefully adjusted to suit each individual grass-type. "Regular Edition" makes grass tall, "Goldilocks Edition" makes grass slightly taller and "Natural Edition" has no height increase.3. GRASS ARE SPREAD-OUT UNEVENLY - This is something that no other grass mod has provided so far (mods I'm familiar with). This avoids the synthetic, super-smooth "wheat-field look", that is so ugly and unrealistic.4. WIND MOVEMENT EFFECTS - Subtle wind movement effects were enhanced on some grasses for added immersion. This effect will be particularly noticeable with the beach grass in the north, tundra grass near Whiterun, the underwater kelp grass, etc.5. MINIMAL FPS Hit - it is recommended to be used at iMinGrassSize=75 (not 20 or 30) or even higher (up to 128). The reason why other grass mods in the past has been slowing down your PC is because they recommend you to use 20 or 40. This mod will give you dense grass all the way up to 128 setting.6. It can BOOST your FPS outdoors without sacrificing grass amount and density! (read on settings below on how you can do this!) =======================================================================What it does NOT do:======================================================================= - This does not change or overwrite any meshes or textures so it is perfectly compatible with Skyrim Flora Overhaul and Lush Grasses series mods- Grass on Steroids does not contain any cell or worldspace edits so it will not cause CTDs.- Grass on Steroids does not contain any scripts, so you can try it and remove it risk-free - it will not affect your saved games. =======================================================================

I'm asking for help and you make a post quoting the mods page ?!? I know all that because I already read the description !!! That really, really doesn't help in absolutely nothing !!!
Zerosleepless Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 I'm really sorry , you can't imagine the number of people who download a mod with only a vague idea about it's functioning , myself included. You said that you have only SFO grass and i assumed you spoke of grass type , not density and size. I have SFO and GOS and they work just fine together My skyrim.ini [Grass] bAllowCreateGrass=1 bAllowLoadGrass=0 b30GrassVS=1 Yours is 0 , try and change it iMaxGrassTypesPerTexure=7 iMinGrassSize=75 our skyrimprefs.ini are the same. I can upload both files for u if u like.
EdinMG Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 No worries, it's all good, anyway, I already tried everything but GoS simply refuses to work for me, and the funny thing is that I already used this mod some time ago and had no problems whatsoever, but now it doesn't, and I don't have any idea of why this is happening, I guess that I'll have to go back to Verdant, at least this one works perfectly !!!
EdinMG Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 I just forgot about GoS and Verdant...\o/...because I've found an even better mod, Unbelievable Grass Two, and it really is unbelievable, I had almost no performance loss with iMinGrassSize set to 60 and the game looks amazing, gods be praised for this great mod !!!

I actually went ahead and tried it and it definitely is superior , needless to say i won't be returning to GOS , so yeah thank you for the tip
Ghoulz Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I was using the mod. It certainly was working for me, but in the way it was intended.... Dunno why, but in some areas especially modded areas I got grass in the sky.
