scrunched skirt, any quick fix?

Hi, I downloaded the UNP HDT Gwelda armor edits from nexus, and reskinned one of the meshes with DX's red riding hood dress. The jiggles seem to work fine, but as you can see in the pic, the skirt becomes scrunched up in the front due to the way it reacts to the leg movement, and my character's idle stance. This happened also with the UNPB 7B conversion of the same armor on the nexus.

Is there a way to remove the skirt's movement, while keeping the chest movement? I'd imagine this has to be a fairly common issue. I tried deleting the skirt bones in nifskope but that lead to CTD every time I load the game.

Use Gerra6's mesh rigger. It can add/remove nodes from a nif all you need is a template body that has the required nodes that you want. All info is in the first post of the thread. http://www.loverslab.com/topic/24797-mesh-rigger-skyrim-fallout-oblivion-beta89f-10-26-2014/page-26?do=findComment&comment=1293346

I tried using the mesh rigger tool, this is what I did: I used a UNP body with BBP for the template:

I used Deserter X's UNP Gwelda Dress as the target mesh:

If I understand this correctly, this should allow me to copy the BBP bone nodes from the UNP body, and put those into the dress's nif file? I ran mesh rigger and used the Select BBP bones button, which selected 4 bones to copy, L/R Breast and L/R Butt. The process finished and it spit out a .nif file, but when I open the file in nifskope, I do not see the new bones added. There were 37 nodes before I used mesh rigger and there are still 37 nodes after I used it. However, I can see noticeable clipping in nifskope so the mesh rigger did do something...it just doesn't seem to have copied the bones over?

While we're on this topic and assuming I can get this working, is it possible for me to just copy only the breast bones with mesh rigger, and leave the butt/skirt bones as it is?

okay I got it. I used an UNP Body generated with bodyslide, and it seems to work just fine. Added Breast bones without touching the skirt in any way. No more clipping and nice bounce on the chest now. Very good

Going to see if I can add the labia bones to this mesh too. this is going to be great lol

I ran it through mesh rigger using the body you listed and the dress from the other one and had no problem whatsoever.

The dress doesn't have a BSDismemberSkinInstance like the body does which shows all nodes attached a given item after running it through mesh rigger it gave the dress a BSDismemberSkinInstance.

I take it you're using 3dsMax for this - if so, check the skin in Edit Envelopes. Does the mesh you skinned it to include skirt bones? I don't see any on myuhinny's pic, but I would really suggest adding them. Then, skin it to a skirt mesh which actually includes skirt bone weighting, as it looks like the one you chose does not & has instead weighted only to the pelvis & thighs.

*Additionally, some poses, as you are using there, can & will scrunch meshes even if they're well skinned.
