Meshes and Textures Saves Profile

Hello!

I'm using Mod Organizer to set different mods for each saved character. My question is if exist a way to use diferent body meshes and textures for your saved characters. Cause today everytime that i want to play another save with a different custom body, i must generate this in Body slider and overwrite that i was using in the save before. When i want to play with this first character again, i must to replace the meshes and textures again. Do you know anything to solve this?

One way i can see that might be a solution is to add your own custom "mod folders" in MO, containing the meshes and textures you need.

So you just make the first folder and name it whatever that saves name is, then copy the texture and mesh folders you use for that save into it, then go into bodyslide and make your other shape and copy that into another folder along with the textures you wanna use for that.

then place those custom folder lower (higher prio) in MO then your main mod for textures and meshes and just activate the one you wanna use, and if you wanna swap to another save deactivate the folder you used before and activate the one you wanna use now.

Hope that made any sense, it's not the most elegant solution but it does save the hassle of having to check/uncheck multiple mods and/or open bodyslide each time.

The meshes from BodySlide will go into your <overwrite> folder. So right click overwrite and make it a new pseudo mod, name it something relative to the profile name and then activate it only in that profile. Repeat the process for each profile so each profile will contain its own BS body mesh.

As for texture packs, just install whatever packs you want and just activate whatever one you want for a particular profile.

you could try BodyChange and see if it works for you

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37546/?

Bodychange only changes the players body type it has no affect on armour meshes though..

What they could do though is install all the different textures sets they want to use, do not activate any except the one that they want to use.

Batch build the armour for the body settings they want but use the ctrl button when choosing batch build, this will allow them to say where those meshes are built, when its finished. zip those meshes up and name them whatever they want to, probably <character name> custom meshes, with a date after it to know when they last built those meshes.

Install those meshes in mod organiser, but leave them unticked in the left pane, and keep them together then when they want to use a different armour/texture set, just untick the current ones and tick the ones they want to use in the left pane of mod organiser, that should work, though you may have to move the body meshes into the character specific meshes mod for it to work properly.

But how can i do that in MO? Shouldn't be a .esp file associated with textures and meshes in order to MO recognize it like a mod to be activated and thus specify a Profile to use it? How can I do that?

Meshes made by bodyslide do not normally have a esp attached to them, skyrim knows if they follow certain naming and folder locations to use them rather than the default ones that come with the game, textures are the same as long as the folder/file name conventions are correct it will use them rather than the default ones it comes with, so you can install several different texture sets and just active the one you want in the left pane of mo, deactivating the ones you do not want, keep them at the bottom of the load order assuming you sort by priority from 1 at the top to overwrite at the bottom that is.

Same goes for the bodyslide armor/body meshes, name them something like <profile name> <bodytype> <date>

<profile name> being the name of the profile

<body type> being cbbe, 7base or what every you are using

<date> being the date you created the meshes on, so that as you update and add new armours to that profile it is easy to see which new mesh mod needs updating and when you last did it.

you just need to create the proper directory path for your textures and meshes. make a dummy data folder, make the textures and meshes folders inside, then all the folders along the path (meshes/actors/character/character assets) and put your body.nif and feet/hand/etc files in the character assets folder. Same with the textures just make sure the paths are correct. Once you're done just go back to the dummy data folder, select both the meshes and textures folders and right click>add to 7zip archive and name it whatever you want to help you identify it. Drag the 7z file into MO downloads section and you can treat it just like any other mod once you install it. Checking it on the left pane will load those files with your game, unchecking it will load your game without the files. just do this with each body type you want to use and you will have toggle switches for each one in your MO list.

doing this will replace all the bodies in the game with your custom body. you only really need an esp if you want to use a different path than the vanilla game's path for bodies (ie custom race, body change for you only and not all NPCs).
