So? How is your Fallout Shelter coming along?

I just started playing Fallout Shelter two days ago on an Android emulator on my PC (because even though my Phone version of Android is high enough, the Playstore tells me that my device is not compatible, sigh).

After several tries and errors, I finally got a little setup started that, so far, is sustaining my 27 dwellers.

Energy seems to be the resource used the most, water and food are plenty, but I had to start a second power station already ^^

Right now I hope for the radio station to attract another dweller, so I can build an armory.

Anyone else kind of addicted to the game?

I had some plans to install Fallout Shelter as well, but haven't gotten around to do it yet. Due to Dark Reaper and shit loads of Sniper games

I don't play much games on my tablet thou. I have shit loads installed, but I only boot them up to get the daily rewards. :sleepy:

Hmm, what the fuck is wrong with me? :dodgy:

Started playing around the same time, the same way.

I'm at 44 dwellers atm counting the unborn, starting to build secondary set of resource rooms. Kinda scared to upgrade rooms tho, seems to be related to raider strength.

Also, radio room is quite the letdown, im lucky to get one new dweller per day/two. Atleast i got lucky with an early toybox, got a 20-21 rocket launcher, any underleveled dweller can go wasteland adventuring with it for 24h+

I just tore my radio room down again, since I had to change some layouts. But while I used it with 2 high charisma guys, I got one new dweller each time. And I just received my 28th dweller this way.

My water treatment, power plant and diner are all three rooms long and upgraded to the max, Raiders are a bit tougher, but I had luck with lunchboxes as well, all 6 dwellers in the diner are equipped with good weapons, two with a Magnetron 4000, several rifles and laser guns. Since the raiders always storm there first, they are greeted with a hail of projectiles and rays and dispatched pretty quickly :)

Now I am saving up to rebuild the radio room ^^

sounds nice, the rocket launcher is the only really good weapon i have, the rest are 7 dmg and lower if they even have a weapon, so i'm still holding off the upgrading until i can get a proper welcoming party togeether. Radio room seems to be about luck then, i have one 7 and one 6 charisma dweller down there and almost no effect :/

Also, for some reason, im getting a buttload more women than men in my vault, lucky guys down there :P

I've been playing since the release day and up to 62 dwellers atm. The radio room is pretty crap for recruiting but it also increases everyone's happiness so it's worth keeping one at least. I just trained the guys there to 10 charisma and waiting to see how that affects recruiting. I've been expanding quite rapidly as I often get 500cap cards from the lunchboxes, and power is definitely the most important resource! I have 6 or 7 strength training rooms full 24/7 to get new workers for new plants. Just unlocked nuclear reactor, hope it has better efficiency as it takes forever to train workers to 10 strength.. And soon I need to build even MORE gyms to increase the strength of my explorers too!

Wish there were some trade possibilities in the game, after a little incident with water shortage, I overcompensated a bit and now the whole vault would be flooded if the game didn't just discard the overproduction...

They ran out of water for no reason and were all irradiated. All of my Dwellers were at 90-100 happiness and in an instant they were all on 10.

I read through some articles on the game, and one stated that the nuclear reactor is actually less efficient than the regular power station, but its got a much bigger storage room for elecricity. Didn't check that in my game yet for obvious reasons.

Maybe I am lucky with the radio room, since I have Elder Lyons, who has charisma 10 with just some Initiate robe ^^

edit: Oh, and he is quite the Ladies man :) I use him to get the task of having 15 couples dance in the barracks right now hehe

Really? I'll have to google that before building one!

I have Lyons too but training him for exploration. You'll get a lot a bald kids mate :D

Naaah, I pull him out (giggle) when they start dancing :)

And I forgot to mention: Thanks for pointing out before that the radio room helps with happiness, didn't know that!

So far I only had raiders and roaches, but the raiders never managed to down one of my dwellers, roaches killed two in one room. I had to spend 550 caps to revive both oO

Edit: And I guess I was just lucky with my first radio room. I rebuild it in a different location, put in the same guys and upgraded it to level 2. No new dwellers in the last 5 hours ^^

This game is wrecking my head!!

My vault is at 200 dwellers and my happiness levels are steady at around 95%, but the deathclaw and molerat attacks are killing me!  The deathclaws especially are ridiculous.  I have 2 dwellers levelled up to the max, armed with MIRVs, waiting in the vault entrance, but they're overrun within seconds.  There's absolutely nothing to do except wait and see how many dwellers are killed before the game decides it's created enough carnage!

I love the game, but the balancing seems so wrong in so many different respects.  My major gripe is the reward system.  It's insane that getting 36 dwellers pregnant should give the same number of caps as levelling up 12 dwellers or, even worse, the same amount of caps as you get for rushing a fully levelled nuka cola plant just once!  You grind for ages to complete lunchbox challenges, only to find that your "rare card" gives you 500 caps - which my production rooms produce in about 2 minutes.

Plus, how is it that i can have a dweller explore the wasteland for 7 days, and find nothing better than an enhanced sawn off shotty??  It might seem cynical, but I'm convinced that you'll only ever get the good weapons if you pay for lunchboxes.

What I don't get about this mobile game is, how enemies even get through thick steel vault door to begin with? It's not secure at all and people inside are just live bait waiting to get raided.

Maybe they should of had some kid of explosive vehicle slam into the vault door to knock it down. And with the vault dwellers success eliminating the enemies, they could of implemented some engineers to repair the vault steel door. That game was made just to entice consumers and get people pumped up for Fallout 4. Nothing more.

Had a molerat attack that killed 3 of my dwellers and I didn't have enough caps to revive them at once. So the poor gals and guys in one power station had to work next to the corpse for an hour, until I had raised the 540 caps to get him back on his feet.

20 minutes later....

Molerat attack #2 :o This time: 5 dead, the cheapest revive at 300 caps. So the people in the power plant had to work for 90 minutes next to two corpses, luckily there is no health inspector who can complain about the three rotting ones in the diner

I was glad so far, that I haven't seen any deathclaw yet, but the molerats are really overpowered already.

One would guess that Elder Lyons could call in some Paladins, but he doesn't seem too interested in the well-being of the other dwellers hehe

@endgameaddiction: Well, the vault door was opened when you sent your first dweller was sent into the Wastelands, and since we are talking about technology from Vault-Tec, the door doesn't work well after that. Just imagine that the hitting animations from the raiders is meant to have them roll the door aside. After all, it is whole again, once the raiders are dealt with. ;) I use suspension of disbelief in this case, because even though the game is frustrating at times, it still is fun and a time sink.

Oh! And I am sure that the game was not only made to pump people for FO4. They probably knew how quickly someone would spend a buck or five for some Lunchboxes, just to get some more caps to revive a fallen dweller. It is tempting and that is why I disabled the online function in the android emulator, so that I do not fall into this trap. I have a low impulse control when it comes to games with microtransactions

What would of been interesting is having some vault security standing in front of the entrance killing off raiders and they swarm in a wave while having like technicians or engineers repair the vault door after it's been taken down.

Now I know why it wasn't released on pc. It so easy to hack. Caps you can change with mem hack and unlimited lunchboxes with rooting emulator.

Still haven't had a deathclaw yet. But those molerats.... and the Vault Handbook lies about them! They do not only appear in rooms that touch dirt! I had them come out right in the heart of my vault's Power Station! No dirt anywhere around. Of course it was the power plant that I thought was safe, the crew only had light weapons to fend of the roaches, if a rush failed.

And I had my low levels placed there to level them safely
At least it wasn't too expensive to revive them, hehe

I was curious about Mr. Handy, so I created a new vault, went through the tutorial (again) and edited the save to have 10 Mr. Handy and 100 Lunchboxes and loads of credits. First: It is soooo boring to play that vault because there is just no challenge, but like I said, it was for experimenting a bit with Vault 666 ^^

I realized that Mr. Handy is good at collecting caps in the wastelands but I still grab the resources from the different resource facilities myself, even though I have a Mr. Handy on that floor. They suck at dealing with incidents as well. So I am glad I didn't buy one to try them out.

So far, I've managed to get up to 58 dwellers and was lucky enough to get 3 Power Armour and as well as Three Dog in my lunchboxes. Bought a few more and got garbage dwellers and a lot of assault rifles. Managed to get 2 dwellers levelled in their SPECIAL to max and sent them scouting. One's found a Fat Man, awesome sauce...
