My PC can't handle most of the newer stuff so I stick to older ENBs.I think my PC is almost 9years old, so I have no choice but to go with 30fps.

how old of one are ya running? i was using a 0.119 enb  til i tried the one posted earlier. it really is a lightweight one.

Put it this way. my PC's hardware is a tugboat sitting inside a Maserati Grand Tourismo. If I'm just sitting in the car, it looks sexy as hell, but it I start to drive the thing, lets just say I'll make Geo Metros look like real sports cars.

In other words, nope not possible. I can't game with ENB enabled. It's just for looks. Until I build my own speed machine, I have to enjoy it for screenshots on this tugboat

Have you two either tried Cinemascope or PV Performance? These are on very old binaries.

I was running on 9 year old hardware and was running these fine.

It won't work with any binary. I run Skyrim without any overlays and ENB off (only using WATER & ELE FX mods) around 24-30 frames. Skyrim is just too heavy for my rig. I had to toss out every single hires texture because I surpassed my vram which caused my game to glitch and go black screen which often times would just CTD or miraculously bring my game back to screen. Caused artifacts which lead me to believe my GPU was going bad but it really wasn't So when it comes to Skyrim I cannot really make it look good until I build a new rig or start changing components in my current game rig, which to me isn't really worth it as I would really have to swap out a lot of hardware, so I would rather just build a new machine for next gen games someday.

My GPU is a GTX 260. The only thing worth still having on this rig is my CPU quadcore (maybe).

However, I'll give those a try. I used Shrutesh's Zoners performance ENB a long time ago (my first ENB because I enjoyed his Fallout enbs for a long time) and it looks great and it uses a very old binary. Runs great but the nights are not so great.

Bite the bullet and run Skyrim in 720p.

That's what I had to do, when I was on GTX260 and then HD6870.

Also, you can reduce the resolution on some textures down to 1k or 512, and then remove the mipmaps(as they add to your VRAM load).

My hobo PC sucks (and kind of always has for reasons), I'm overdue a total refresh by about 2 years. I find the low 30s absolutely fine for general gameplay - I'd like more obvs, but I'm a mod junkie who needs to be in her happy place. So I aim for 35ish outdoors, 45 to 55 indoors.

I've tried all the alternatives to ENB over the years, they have their place but none of them gave me that yummy satisfaction that Somber, Saraan Suum or any of Bronze's ENBs do. I'm prepared to routinely throw 25 or 30fps under the bus for that.

I have never used an ENB and my rig packs a serious punch.   Seriously, with Purity (for water, weather and lighting) the Imaginator, Skyrim Flora Overhaul and some nice hi-res textures, why would I risk torching my game?  Heard too many horror stories about ENBs - and no, it's not because I'm too stupid to use them.   You really can get some wonderful scenes without.
