RedMonika Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I wouldn't touch Frostfall or Hunterborn at all. Seems to big and involved to be merged.
Kira_of_Tilgia Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 Honestly, I've tried MO several times but I just get confused. I understand that it's totally geared for Skyrim but I just don't know what I'm doing with it. You're most welcome. I hope I was able to shine some light for you with merging mods. I'm still learning from my mistakes as well. I have about 500 mods that I'm trying to use. Hey, if you can get 500ish mods working with NMM more power to you! I keep bumbling around. I'll get things Mostly working or how I want and then find another problem to fix, and I have that "Cannot QUIT NOW" mentality with this kind of thing so I keep trying xD It did take me a bit to really get used to using MO, but with how much I mess up I would be lost without it @.@; Doesn't help that I'm Highly impatient and cannot wait to carefully test a handul of mods at once, nono, I have to get Everything I can cram in there at once to try @.@ .... Any suggestions on merging equipment with the bodyslide components so that the batch builds and the armors themselves don't like, get messed up or can't find one another? (does that even make sense???)
Ashkandii Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 MERGING BODYSLIDE components? WHY YOU COULD BUT DONT DO THAT WHY? because you should download bodyslide into your skyrim data folder then just copy the bodyslide meshes from the mods into that folder the merged armour mods will use the bodyslide meshes no matter what unless you change the names of the files. SCREW MERGING BODYSLIDE THAT JUST TAKES EXTRA LOAD TIME and anyone have trouble merging Remodeled Armor CBBE Replacer? i crash instantly

Also: NOT sure why everyone is manually installing Bodyslide and FNIS when they're using Mod Organizer. I have ALWAYS installed and ran through MO with NO issues what so ever. If you have issues installing and running through MO then either you don't have the permissions for the folder set properly, it wasn't installed to the correct place, or some other USER error. Mine works fine without a hitch. Always has.

It's probably going to be a few weeks. I'm in the process of debugging some problems with my Fallout guide, then I have the Morroblivion guide to do, but I'll get to it soon.

At all. Not even PRETENDY. Also, I didn't mean merge Bodyslide itself. What you said makes sense and I feel half silly, but that doesn't tell me whether it's safe to merge armors that have bodyslided components that I put in the bodyslide folder. Is it? *melodramatic worry* WILL THEY EVEH FIND EACHOTHA???

It just takes patience to make sure you're not getting duplicates of armors, and if you ARE getting duplicates, making sure you only have the bodyslide options for the ones you want in the FINAL batch build.

(does that even make sense???) Well, this is where Wyre Bash comes in handy there are some mods that it will merge into it, so, that's one less slot. Also, the game just freaks out if you have more than 255 mods on or off and with Wyre Bash you can "ghost" the ones that you disabled. When merging mods I had it confirmed that you don't uninstall the mods that you merged but disable them. So, if you have 300 mods but merged them to get to 150 the game still sees the other 150 mods. With ghosting you hide those extras from Skyrim. Wyre Bash does some other magic behind the scenes with other mods too.

So there won't be any problems as long as I don't do duplicate bodyslidy stuff. . .? I Do have a bit of trouble after DLing and re-DLing so many mods so many times. @_@ And it's fine to merge equipment that isn't bodyslide enabled with stuff that is right? (I assume merging Devious Devices stuff would be an explosively bad idea cause of scripting and the dependance of other SexLab mods on it... Generally I'm not touching LL stuff for mod merging >.<; *cheekan* ) Also Is it. . . Safe to merge SAM related stuff, including the body together? I would assume not since the MCM menu and scripting for SAM to properly effect NPCs, but other worries I had have been squished already tonight so I might as well stab at another one xD Also wondering if It's... plausible to merge animations together? I would think no, but...
Kira_of_Tilgia Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 Oh, and NPCs, Like, There are a TON of errors when I check things like Interesting NPCs, So I'm guessing Ones like that can't be... But what about reskins of current NPCs and more basic followers? And can I merge armors Before I bodyslide them, or should I only ever do it After?
Anatriax Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 No need to ghost mods with MO, you just move them to the "Optional ESP" 1) Right click the mod 2) navigate to the "Optional ESP" tab 3) Highlight the ESP that's not active, and move it up.
Anatriax Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 As far as a lot of merging goes? 99% of it is trial and error. Try it. If it goes through with only one or two errors? Change the order, and try again. If you REALLY want a mod merged, the best way is to manually do it with TES5Edit, or to just recreate the assets in CK.
Kira_of_Tilgia Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 Okay, one last dumb question about merging plugins. The guides I've watched aren't really clear on what to do After you have your merged patch, with the mods you used to make the patches. I only know you leave them in your MO mod folder. It says to uncheck something. I've Been unchecking the Mods themselves. Is that what I'm supposed to do? Or just the esps? Or do I need to like, delete the esps and check the mods still . . . or something else I haven't considered?
Anatriax Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Just put it in the bottom of your load order, below a bashed patch. Always build a bashed patch first, then the merged patch from TES5Edit second. This way it helps resolve any conflicts between other active plugins, and the bashed patch.

I mean the mods that the merged one merged together. I've been letting loot sort out what to do with the Merged Plugin. I just am not sure what to do with the mods that lets me take out of my esp load order. Do I simply un-tick the check boxes on the left pane, or on the right pane, or do I need to do something more complicated? I'm also wondering, if I put mods in a merged plugin that Don't normally Have an esp anyway do they actually end up in the merged plugin - aka, if I click it and it doesn't add an ESP and I had tried merging it, does that mean it wasn't merged and I need to check mark it on my left pane? Oh, and if Mod Organizer says something doesn't need checked in the eps load order, and I untick it and it's checked in archives, is it still counting against my load order total?
Ashkandii Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Ok my i awake from my Slumber. Will <insert mod here> work?A: Based on user-submitted reports, there's a 97.56% likelihood it will work. Those are some pretty good odds. So in theory you can merge any mod that doesent overwrite/conflict with other files. but that doesn't mean it would work, for instance you could merge living takes time but the MCM wont show up for reasons, it works. but you just lost your customization. Whats that? RND made a merged plugin for unofficial patches which overwrite the regular rnd.esp? just cut and copy the merged into the main rnd folder and its okay. But for instance a texture replacer, you just put that texture replacer in the folder its replacing so you dont have an extra box to tick But if a mod conflicts with an other dont merge them. Merging light script mods should be okay. If mod just adds meshes/textures and no .esp then why merge it? its not adding anything to your load order just leave it alone, it wants to be in peace and let it find solace in its current home. tl:dr it works, and place the unwanted .esps in the optional plugin section, if its in your load order like that other person said (forgot your name >.<) skyrim is stupy it still try register unwanted unticked box, must load. but NAOW dont allow it...KEEP IT AWAY! *hiss*
