I tried fixing the neck seam for UNP skinny using this tutorial, but it works on all but one of my character presets.

Why is this?

The first screenshot (Heathyr, top left) is the character I'm having this issue with.

If I remember correctly, under Racemenu there's a setting under the Head section where you can change head models, either the one that came with the preset, the Nord default, or the vampire equivalent. It should fix the neck seam.

Otherwise, you need to slide down the character weight to 0 first before importing the facegen NIF. This removes the neckseam, and only then you can set the correct weight.

Actually I use the presets by pressing F9 in the "load preset" option for racemenu.

Individual head NIF's are not imported, heads and bodies are selected through the different presets.

That tutorial isn't for that problem. What you have there looks like a body mesh problem. Specifically, it looks like the body mesh in that armor. Do you still get the same neck seam when your character isn't wearing armor?

Yes, I do.

Then the problem is the body mesh you're using. Some of the UNP variants are known to be bad. Try a different one and see if it goes away. If it does, you'll just have to find a fixed set of meshes.

Guess there's a chance though that it could be something in the preset, but I've never run into anything like that. Every time I've had a gap like that, it's been a problem with the body. And for clarification, what you have is a gap, not a seam issue. Seam issues are slight color differences, stuff like that.

Could I try fixing the neckseam on the head NIF in nifskope?

The head isn't the problem.
