OneWhoSpeaks Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 So after finally figuring out my very first ENB installation (thanks to you guys, stay awesome) I decided that I wanted to see how different skin textures would look in the new graphics. But my changes have yielded something far worse...I've made my character into some sort of freak. Her eyebrows dissapeared, and her eyes have become...strange. When I open racemenu to see if I can pick some new eyebrows, her eyes disappear entirely, leaving her with empty sockets. I'll include a screenshot, so you know what I mean. How do I fix this?!
OneWhoSpeaks Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Phase 6 of my guide, kind sir <3 Hello again! Hopefully this issue gets resolved a little faster than the other one. However, I don't see anything about fixing bugs related to facial issues in phase 6, and phase 9 doesn't have anything of the sort either. Are you suggesting I re-download everything?
Anatriax Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Looks like a head mesh problem. If you go with the mods that I list (and install them how and in what order I say in the guide), these are the results you should get:http://i.imgur.com/BSaCJRo.png http://i.imgur.com/dVoEOp7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/6vNHet8.jpg http://i.imgur.com/VFr95AN.jpg

Or maybe not, I have no clue. Wish me luck.
OneWhoSpeaks Posted July 28, 2015 Author Posted July 28, 2015 Just realized that you wrote this with MO users in mind. I'm using NMM, so I hope that's not a problem. I'm just going through, following things as best I can. As I write this I'm waiting for the Remodeled Armor to uninstall, it seems to be either frozen or simply moving VERY slowly. Send help pls
Anatriax Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 They do move slowly, both with NMM and with MOWith NMM all you have to do is pay EXTRA CAREFUL attention to NOT overwrite with the files I tell you not to install.

Followed all the instructions, close as I could. Only one thing changed. Eyebrows are still gone, but her eyes looks like actual eyes now, instead of weird blobs. However, when I open raacmenu, they disappear, same as before. Left is pre-racemenu, right is post. I need to fix this, I reallllllly don't want to restart...
Anatriax Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I bet you are doing all of this on a current save. That'll be a no-go. Any time you change your mod setup an entirely new game should be started. There's a thread around here somewhere about the disappearing eyes glitch

Because I'm trying to fix that save. I'm not trying to create a new character or modify an old one, I just messed something up and now I want to get it back to the way it was....
Anatriax Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Unfortunately the only sure fire way to do that is to remove all of the mods that you've recently installed, and go back to a save from before you installed them. It's highly inadvisable to add mods to an existing setup, as it can break your game or even cause weird bugs. However, like I said I think there is a threat here on LL somewhere about the disappearing eye/eyebrow glitches.

However, like I said I think there is a threat here on LL somewhere about the disappearing eye/eyebrow glitches. Let me tell you exactly what happened, since I guess it wasn't clear enough the first time (and I apologize for that): I finished installing the Seasons of Skyrim ENB (with your help, thanks again ) and loaded the game. It looked great, but then I had a thought. What would other skin textures look like with it? So I exited, and re-installed Fair Skin Complexion using the silky setting instead of the goosebumps one. When I got back into the game, my character's eyes were screwed up and her eyebrows were gone. I am now attempting to restore my game to the state in which I had eyebrows and eyes. The only mods I've added recently are the ENB, which worked fine until I did the FSC thing, and the Better Females mod after using your guide to try and fix the issue. Nothing else has been modified. And of course since I'm an idiot I just save over the same file again and again so I don't have a billion different saves, meaning my only other save for this game is ridiculously old. I am currently looking into a fix for the eyes disappearing, since another fix I found restored my eyebrows (but that's it). It would be extremely helpful if you had a link to that disappearing eyes thread, but I'm sure I'll find it eventually otherwise.
Anatriax Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 You must have installed the eyes and eyebrows options for Fair Skin. Try reinstalling the mod, and not checking those options. Also, sorry if I seem short/crass. I have 3 monitors up, and I'm working diligently on completing my guide for TTW. I'd like to get it done by Wednesday.
Nichoice Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Ok, so as far as I understand you are trying to restore your character to what ever mess you have created with NMM. Now, you must understand that NMM installs mods over on top of each other, therefore the order is important. Second, you mentioned you installed a ENB preset, then Fair Skin (which as Anatriax points out includes a eyebrow/eye and if I am not mistaken makeup as well), then better females. Please follow the following steps: 1. Uninstall better females 2. Uninstall Fair Skin 3. Enter Skyrim 4. Coc Qasmoke in the main menu 5. Console and showracemenu What are the results? Are the eyes still invisible? Are eyebrows present? Yes? If not, towards the top of NMM there should be a installation date. Order your mods according to your installation and determine what else has been done. 6. Open your save you are trying to restore 7. console and showracemenu 8. Did you save a preset? if So, restore that preset and remake your character If not, choose new eyes and brows for your character or the same eyes and brows you had previously. Note: From your 2nd Screen it appears you have fixed it except for the eyes, have you tried reloading the save? Choosing new eyes? Have you got the invisible eye fix? (Which is embedded in a lot of mods like wet eyes if I am not mistaken) Its very hard for us to contemplate what is "fixed" seeing as we don't have any idea what the original looked like. As mentioned above, there is no guarantee since you have been tinkering with the same save. But be sure to use the preset function in racemenu to ensure your sculpts and such are retained next time. Worse case scenario, go find a pretty preset you like and work off that. There are some very pretty presets out there combined with Citrus heads.

Alright, I uninstalled Fair Skin and Better Females, and opened the save I was trying to fix. Her eyes and brows are back! So that's that solved. I had a few presets in racemenu that I had worked with in the past, and thankfully the look I was using hadn't been modified too heavily after saving those. Does this mean that I simply cannot use FSC and Better Females? That would be unfortunate, as I rather enjoyed the look of FSC prior to it causing these issues. Better Females doesn't seem like much of a loss to me though. A few things I noticed that are a bit strange: 1. Every time I load now, it says the save relies on things that are now missing, even if I've just re-installed something. 2. I think I found (possibly) a part of the issue. I'm missing an eyebrow mod, according to Racemenu. It's called "12femalebrows" Including a screenshot of it.
Veladarius Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Do you have any other eye or eyebrow mods installed? You may want to add one or two in case something happens with the defaults.

I do have The Eyes of Beauty installed. That and SG Female Eyebrows are the only eye-altering mods I have installed.
OneWhoSpeaks Posted July 29, 2015 Author Posted July 29, 2015 D-d-drrraaven Love how you decided to post on a help thread just to do that XD Seriously though, thank you. I got a good laugh outta that.
Nichoice Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 As Anatraix said, the missing mod is from Fair Skin. And its usually best not to mess with a current save over and over again. Try and start a new game with fair skin installed and play around in race menu. Also I notice some discolour with the neck and the rest of the body, it would appear you have other texture mods or mods which provide normals and speculars. => http://www.loverslab.com/topic/28063-best-body-texture-mod/ Have a look at the link above, I learned alot from there and messing around with textures myself. Specifically at post #52, Swiftstep talks about mixing and matching textures. If you don't know what you are doing, its best to just stick with one texture mod which provides for all.

Thanks friend, guess I could use a lot more knowledge about mods (specifically textures/meshes/body stuff). I'd love to learn all of it, but it just seems like so much to try and keep track of. Honestly, right now, I'm a little burnt out on modding. Trying to figure this out, along with the ENB I installed, has made me realize that while mods are cool and can potentially make the game much better, they're also a huge pain in the ass if you mess anything up. I've managed to get my character back into decent shape, not as good as I would like (that neck seam is ugly, and there's a weird discoloration on her head, skin could use some work, etc.) but acceptable for now. I think I'll just play the game normally for a while before I make another attempt at creating that perfect character I'm searching for.
Nichoice Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 As I said, the discoloration is due to different normals and specular maps with your textures. If you look in your texture folder you will find texture.dds, texture_s.dds etc. You see how your body shines in the light from while your face stays matte? There is probably due to a sweat/wet body that you have installed. You can mix and match them, but make sure your texture_s.dds are all from the same mod and it provides for head, body, arms etc. Otherwise you are going to get that discoloration as the reflections are different in light. Some minor neck seams are to be expected depending on your mesh, enb, color, lighting mods. Try turning off your enb, do you still have a neck seam? If so, use another ENB. Try uninstalling any other "sweat" "wet" mods, use the default ones from Fair Skin Complexion. The normals and specs that are provided in that mod should suffice. Yes modding can be a pain if you don't know what you are doing, I have been playing bethesda games since FO3, then moved on to FNV and finally Skyrim. It has taken years and years of browsing forums, misinformation, trial and error to understand what I know now. And yet, what I know pales in comparison to those talented individuals here whom have taken the extra effort to learn scripting, nifskope etc. Just remember to backup your files, backup your saves. Don't be afraid to test things out, learn from your mistakes and don't be afraid to ask. I cannot stress enough how important it is to READ! READ READ READ!
Anatriax Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 OP if you want an excellent modding experience, you should check out my guide. From beginning to end. I basically tell you what to do when, and most people haven't had any issues following the guide and have a fairly stable and gorgeous game.
