Most of the music I listen to is stuff that I listened to as a kid. It breaks down mostly into 3 categories:

1. stuff my dad would listen to while driving or working on stuff in his shed, things like that – this is mostly old country music and a few "rollerskating songs"

2. stuff I thought was so cool and rebellious to listen to when I was like 12–16 lmao – this is stuff like Linkin Park, MCR, Simple Plan, Green Day, Cobra Starship, etc.

3. music from video games and TV shows and such – mostly the Sims 1 soundtrack, music from the old Homestar Runner site (and SBCG4AP ofc), and stuff from Tony Hawk's Underground 2's soundtrack, etc.

 

Fun fact: the first CD I owned was Kidz Bop 2. Not sure of the first cassette I owned, but I still have one from the Tarzan soundtrack; it was my favorite movie as a little kid.

A couple of years after turning 40 I was struck by a midlife crisis which manifested into buying a first gen audi TT, I had it for a year or so and loved that fuckin thing to bits.

 

I had finished work for the year and was driving home ready for the holidays, less than 1 km from my house I skidded on some mud and ended up in a ditch, the car was a total right off but it saved my life. 

 

My midlife was finished in one fell swoop, like a changing of government, one period ends another begins.

 

Anyway I was knocked out, all the airbags deployed but the radio was still working and as i came around from being knocked out this was playing.

 

Things happen for reasons, maybe I wasn't meant to be soo proud? maybe I was being punished for misadventures?

 

We are accidents waiting to happen.
