Highwayman300 Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 After days and days of trying, frequent re-installs, and multiple wasted hours of "bugfixing" attempts, I have been unable to fix the constant freezing (Every 15-30mins) in my game. The game will suddenly freeze (Almost always while outdoors) and just stay like that forever. No crashes, just a silent freeze. I am currently running stutter remover, NVAC, FNV4gb, and using the recommended INI tweaks as well. I am also running the game with very low settings, all to no avail. The problem kept going even when creating a new game, so save corruption seems out of the question. Would really apreciate some help with this, as this issue has been going for weeks now. Only lead I currently have is that for whatever reason, the NVSE launcher has stopped working, but FNVGB will launch properly with NVSE working perfectly fine. I just can't lauch FNV from the NVSE launcher by itself. CoxcombCornking Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Hi. I've used this since it came out: Game Companion. http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42956/? Replaced the original Fake Fullscreen, which was excellent. This allows you to play in the more stable "windowed mode", and converts it to fullscreen for you. Also, you may want to double check / reinstall your Microsoft Visual C++. Just in case. Can't hurt. Good Luck. This game can be a pain in the ass, huh?

I have been using Fake Fullscreen for a while, and there is really no difference between windowed, or full screen mode. The game crashes the same ammount of times, and as frequently in either mode. I gave it a try and updated/checked Microsoft Visual C++, and no use either. I am starting to think this might be mod related (Conflict) but can't pinpoint which mod is causing this.
sila Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Have you applied the multicore cpu fix? Sounds like that is what the issue is. Try doing this and see if it helps: Fallout 3 Dual-Core and Multi-Core Fix If you're running Fallout 3 on a dual- or multi-core solution and experiencing frequent lockups or crashes to the desktop, make the following changes:Open the folder 'My Documents' / 'My Games' / 'Fallout3'Look for and open up the file FALLOUT.ini.Inside FALLOUT.ini look for a group called [general].Inside the general group, after all the configuration parameters, just copy and paste the following two lines:bUseThreadedAI=1iNumHWThreads=2 Now save your work, close FALLOUT.ini, fire F3 up and get ready to enjoy the damn game the way it was meant to be played. Props to TweakGuides for their outstanding and exhaustive workup, and thanks to Bethesda for bringing Fallout into the 21st century with style. Edit: this is the same fix for New Vegas as well
Guest Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 BLIND has a script problem. If you want to make an attempt, disable the health bars on the MCM, or disable the whole mod unticking "enable", see if it changes something.

Edit: this is the same fix for New Vegas as well I already done this tweak a while ago. Concerning performance tweaks, mods and the like, I have pretty much tried everything. BLIND has a script problem. If you want to make an attempt, disable the health bars on the MCM, or disable the whole mod unticking "enable", see if it changes something. The constant script jerkiness while having this mod active suddenly make sense. Anyhow, disabling it has no effect whatsoever, the game freezes just as much, still unsure about uninstalling as I am not sure if mods save their script data in saves like they do in skyrim.
Guest Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 When you uninstall a mod, the save will be cleaned when you make a new clean save. However, if disabling it via MCM doesn't solve your issue, then it means it's not the cause. script jerkiness Only if your game has something wrong. On a "normal" system, the performances are ok, the loss is not much perceptible

On a "normal" system, the performances are ok, the loss is not much perceptible Disabling it on MCM didn't really affect much. As for the "scrip jerkiness", it only happened during certain momments, and was wondering what it was. After some testing, Blind was indeed the issue, but not the cause of the crashes/freezes.
Guest Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Disabling it on MCM didn't really affect much. Well, good then if you figured it wasn't the cause, one less to think. If only every mod had a "Enable" switch in game, it would be so fast to test things Blind was indeed the issue For those who have a weak system, the MCM allows to configure the workload generated by the mod during cell change. Under "Advanced settings", reducing "Depth" reduces the radius of the scanner (and so the workload). Other parameters that influence the workload are "Smoothness" (smaller values = more workload) and "Scan Frequency" (smaller values = more workload)
CoxcombCornking Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Still been thinking of your dilemma. Remembered this little gem! Nicely, it comes in a video instruction.
