DocClox Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Hey all. I want to make an outfit featuring a backpack. There's a "furbag" mod on Nexus with open permissions that looks like it will do the job, but I'd like it to ride a little higher. It's set to hang around the small of the back and I'd like to to ride more on the shoulders. Anyway, I tried using nifscope, couldn't work out how to move the mesh, and then thought bodyslide! And bodyslide works just fine. I set a reference body, loaded the nif, moved the meshes up and in a little and saved the project. So far so good. Only, I'm not sure what to do next. The in game bag hasn't changed. It does show up on the bodyslide outfit list, but building it doesn't seem to change its position on the body. There isn't an altered nif under meshes either. There is one, I believe, under the bodyslide folder; do I copy that into a directory in meshes? Sorry to be so clueless - this is pretty much new territory for me.

Well, first of all, are you trying to make a simple CBBE/UNP/xyz conversion, or a conversion with support for the BodySlide sliders of CBBE or UUNP? Or no conversion at all and just a slight shape edit? If it's just an edit, you can simply do the same for both the _0.nif and _1.nif file and use "File -> Export NIF" to save each. No reference is needed here, just the outfit. If it should be a full BodySlide conversion with all the sliders and things, then I suggest reading through the tutorials on the Nexus mod page and on LL for making a BodySlide conversion. In the save project dialog, make sure to read the tool tips by hovering the mouse over the text fields.

So, just so I'm clear, after I edit the nifs, do I move them from under the bodyslide folder to data/meshes? Or leave them where they are? Or should I be using nifskope for that matter? (I did read the nexus tutorial, but I got a little swamped with information. Nothing that won't pass once I get the basics down )

Nothing that won't pass once I get the basics down ) If you want to only do slight edits or move things, you don't need to use "Save Project" (thus you won't even have them in the BodySlide folder). You just need to do your edit for both the _0.nif and _1.nif with "Load Outfit" and then use "Export NIF".
