sethwarner08 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Hello, I'd like to know if moving MO's ENTIRE directory would cause issues and possibly break the game? MY Skyrim is heavily modded and as a result the MO folder is sized above 120GB right now, i'd like to relocate the entire directory to an alternate drive that has more space. I do understand that executable path's will need to be reassigned but other than that are there any potential fundamental issues that may completely destroy my game or cause undesirable outcomes? Thanks in advance and any help would be highly appreciated.
Varithina Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 If you take a look at the modorganiser.ini you will see it also contains path data for various things, you should be fine if you change those entries, before you re-start mo after moving it. Or at least it should sort most of your problems, don't forget your download directory dose not have to be on the same drive as the game install.

Yes i did change the download directory its still packing a lot of space though. I did not know about the modorganizer.ini, let me check that out and revert with questions, really appreciate the help!
Varithina Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Your welcome, and my mod organiser mods directory is about 80-90gig at present, so I see where you are coming from, I should move the entire skyrim directory to another drive, but the pain the pain

I mean with that size our games are heavily modded and a block out of place could lead to insane instabilities, im very skeptical about this but i hope reassigning MOD organizer's inis are the last step to doing it the right way along with re assigned executables.
Varithina Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 You might have to re-install some of the utilities or at least change their links but it should for the most part work, though you will need to change the skyrim install location as well, which is a bit harder though there are tools to move it to another drive using links. To be honest I am tempted to install a sata controller and another 4, 2-4tb drives in my current gaming pc, that's to go with the current 5 2tb that are already there, then move skyrim and my other heavily moded games onto their own drive. That and the fact that my steam install drive is getting just a bit full
