Help with NIF crashing...

I'm working on a Tera vanilla armor replacer and am having problems with some nifs crashing the game and creation kit.

The nifs are mash ups of some tera armors with other stuff. I was having problems with Outfit Studio crashing when adding some nifs so I did it via Nifskope. To do so I deleted all blocks referencing bones, then copy block branch from one nif to another nif file. Then imported into Outfit Studio and copied bone reference and weights. This method worked on quite a few armors. Everything looked good in Bodyslide but I've got a handful crashing Creation Kit.

I followed the guide located here to make sure the nifs were ready for Outfit Studio before importing. I'm almost done with all the vanilla armors but there's that handful that are crashing and I can't figure it out.

Can anyone look at the nif and hopefully see where I went wrong? Thank you.

Try setting the dismember partition from BP_TORSO to SBP_32_BODY.

Try removing the armour on the legs (thighs [154]) and see if it crashes then.

I just came here to post this exact same thing. The thigh armor is crashing. Any ideas why?

Its weights are bad, or have been corrupted.

The only way i can think of fixing them is by redoing the weights in max/blender.

So i did, its just the thigh armour so you will need to copy/paste them in to the armour nif.

They will hopefully stop the crashing.

Thanks so much! Any way to fix this in nifskope? I have like 10 other armor hashes that are crashing that I suspect have the same problem. I was hoping if I could figure out how to fix this myself then I can fix the rest.

Assuming it is the weights that are the problem, you can fix them in max or blender, you can try to fix them in outfit studio.

Or you can grab mesh rigger http://www.loverslab.com/topic/24797-mesh-rigger-skyrim-fallout-oblivion-beta89f-10-26-2014/and use it to fix the weights.

Were any of the armors run through bodyslid?

Terrific! Thanks for the tip. I'll look into it.

That is what I thought I myself have never used bodyslid and I tend to try to stay away from armors/outfits that have been run through it as it tends to add flaws and errors to nifs. I use Gerra6's clothing converter for any conversions that I do. It works for skyrim oblivion and fallout games. The clothing converter tends to blow up bodyslid outfits/armors because it scans everything including the flaws it added to the bodies/armors.

It can also cause errors like incursive errors if a person pasted the armors and bodies into a skeleton nif and then afterwards pasted them back into the original or new nif once they were done doing what they needed to do to it in bodyslid.

Good to know! Thanks for the info. I'll look into Gerra6.
