Mashed armor randomly shows

Okay I've been dealing with this bizarre problem for almost a week now. Since I have been testing sexlab mods this entire time, I've done many resets of my skyrim folder. One thing which kept bugging me is how this mashed armor I made doesn't show up profile properly. I'm hoping I can describe what is happening and someone with more experience can see what's going on:

What I did is use nifskope to copy and paste the panty node from Osare underwear mod into another mod, aligned it, applied transformations, and saved it. In the CK, the armor mesh displays properly with the panties attached. However in the game, the panty doesn't show up... most of the time. This is where it gets weird. If I play around with the race menu settings, changing my race and gender randomly, there's a good chance the armor will suddenly show up with the panties on. Once it does show up, I can load an older save, quit, etc and it will always show up. However sometimes when I do a reset to mods in MCM (ie reset SOS or sexlab) the panties disappear again.

I did not modify the mesh once I made it, so there's something I'm doing in the game which made it work. I just don't know what. BTW the armor is bridal set with hdt physics. Is it possible hdt is causing armor to not show?

If I were to take a guess I would say it is because of this *aligned it* you can not move adjust align something in a mesh without first rerigging the item after having adjusting moving aligning it because moving aligning adjusting something in a nif will f-up the rigging for that item and it will either not appear correctly in game or it won't appear at all. So you have to redo the rigging for the item. If you are using both the _0 and _1 files then both have to match with the same adjustments done in both nifs.

The panty has a _0 and _1 nif, but the armor doesn't (weighted weighted at 100, any less and seams at neck).

I don't remember this being a problem back in oblivion and I thought I can just mash with cut and paste. What should I look into if I want to do this? Will outfit studio work if all I want is to resize and reposition something? I just want to put a pair of underwear on this armor and I don't know if there's an easier way to do it lol

You can paste stuff into meshes you just can reposition/move things. Skyrim meshes have 2 nifs usually for one item so both have to match adjustment wise and item wise or in game nothing will change if it only has one then it will be fine with just the one nif. You can move something forward/backwards up/down a bit without any harm but adjust them too much and you will and if you use any of the other ones it will mess the rigging up. This true for all beth games skyrim oblivion fallout. I think if you reposition anything even in outfit studios I still think you have to redo the rigging for the item. Not sure though as I have never used outfit studios it might have a option in it. There is mesh rigger that can weight and rig a item and it doesn't require the use of any 3d program to do it.

Outfits are weighted to their present position. If you move them around without re-weighting, they're still going to behave as if they're in their original locations movement-wise.
