(Request): Weaving Loom - Modder's Resource

I'd try this myself but I'm completely clueless on 3D modelling work,

ANYWAY, my next planned mod is a comprehensive item recycling mod.  As part of that I'd like a weaving loom to break down clothes and "armor" not made of leather or metal.  If I can get said loom, I'll also almost certainly add a tailoring option to create unenchanted clothing.  Yeah I could use the tanning rack, but that's not as immersive.

Yes, I know there are already recycling mods out there also, but I've yet to find one that I'm 100% happy with, partticularly in terms of completeness.

So far, the only loom I've seen out there is the one used in Buckle's "Tailoring" mod on Steam.  Buckles won't respond to any communication though, so I can't get permission to use his assets.

What kind of loom?

Does it just need to be a static object?

Just something simple, like the first pic, with more subdued colors perhaps since Skyrim tends to use more subdued colors in it's clothing.  Besides, I figure a smaller 'footprint' in the game world will make it easier to place more of them. :)

Here's the one Buckles has in his "Tailoring' mod for comparison:

EDIT: And yeah, just a static object is fine.  If it's animated then we have to come up with character animations for it and everything also.  I was going to be lazy and use the tanning rack player animation like Buckles did.  Not the best choice but it's workable.

Wow, looks freaking amazing.  Many thanks :)

Ironically Buckles just gave me permission to do what I want with his tailoring mod.  Even so, I think I'll be building a new mod from scratch, but using his ideas as a framework.

So yeah, Comprehensive item recycling and a new tailoring mod coming up in the near future.  I'll definitely make sure you get credit for the awesome looking loom too. :)

Lordy,,,  I'm going to have my work cut out for me.  Never paid much attention to Buckle's mod, which I've gotten permission to incorporate into my mod, but I'm only half a step ahead of starting from scratch.  He had dyes (made like alchemy potions) as required items for clothes but he was just making up colors for clothes in some cases.  Hammerfell Garb is supposedly Red and Black for example  O_O

He made all the shoes and boots out of cloth too.  Some clearly are in the game but most are suede or soft, non-armor grade (uncured) leather.   Looking at the UESPWiki, he left some outfits out too, despite already including Cicero's outfit, the Wedding clothes and a few other 'console command only' outfits.

*Le Sigh*   Well, to quote Super Chicken...  You knew the job was dangerous when you took it.   :D

 This is why i just do the models, 1 fun afternoon in max and 1 late evening in PS and that's it, just pass it on to a modder and see what they do with it.

And you know what the best part is? i will never have to deal with users having problems, since i will only have to answer to you, gyahahaha i never even had to launch the CK.

And if you want to add the ability to dye clothing you should check out this http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56420/?

*shakes fist*  ROFL

Yeah, you're definitely right about dealing with users and the other issues.  It's almost eerie really, it's been almost two weeks since I've had some noob tell me my Dawnguard Sentries mod keeps attacking him without cause.  Heaven forbid they read about the known mod conflicts with a few bad mods that change AI around.  My mod is just a bunch of vanilla NPCs and patrol idle markers.

I'll definitely have to look into the dye mod.  Not sure that's a level of complexity I want to add to the mod, at least just yet.  Buckles just had "dyes" that match the vanilla colors as part of the crafting requirement.  They were just a resource sink, kind of like having to use an ingot to sharpen (improve) a sword is.  :)

EDIT:  Even though I'm using Buckles mod as a framework, I'm still using your loom.  It looks way better than his.
