Guest Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Hello, I am trying to merge two meshes in a single one (one is a top, the other is a skirt). Sadly the result file crashes the CK and Skyrim. I have no experience at all with 3D tools (not Blender, nor 3D studio.) I did the merge directly in NifSkope. If I load the NIF in BodySlide/OutFit Studio, it seems to work just fine. No errors. But as soon as I try to add it to CK, the Creation Kit crashes immediately. Can anybody of you that knows how make a NIF work, try to fix this NIF for me? Here a small archive with the NIF and the textures (of course the path for the textures will be wrong because it is done for a specific mod.) If required I can provide the two separate NIFs for the top and the skirt. They are working just fine when they are alone. Thank you.
Guest Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Try this. Works like a charm. Thank you @Vioxsis. Can you tell me what was wrong? So next time I will try to avoid the same error... Thanks again.
Vioxsis Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 There was quite a lot wrong with the nif. But the stuff outside the NiNode was what was crashing skyrim/CK, but oddly the head node had been moved up and the floating node was the loose head node. After poking around in the trishapes the skin partition on the skirt looked wrong, so i decided to send it through max (import then export) just to be sure and then just cleaned up after the exporter.
Guest Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Thanks for the explanation. Sadly now in the game the upper part of the dress is over the head of the NPCs. And also the "breast cups" are completely off. The torso goes on and off, under the body. The skirt is OK in position. I tried to fix it with with BodyStudio, but all changes I do are simply no more applied to the final model. I have the two source NIFs, one for the top and one for the skirt. These alone are working fine for me. Would you mind to try to merge them? Skirt: Top: Body, if you need it: Thanks.
Vioxsis Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Your quite lucky i remade the skeleton for that skirt in max for something i was working on. It hopefully should work ok now, though i noticed there was no string data linked in the skirt nif so i never linked one in the exported nif. Exported.nif
Guest Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Still not working. Bodyslide seems to be not able to fix this.
Guest Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Ok, some progress using a different approach. A single Armor with TWO ArmorAddons, one for the top, one for the skirt. The final item looks nice, correctly scaled, and SexLab removes it completely (because it is only BODY.) Still some problems when the NPC wears again the armor, probably the "HDT" of the skirt is creating problems (I don't need the HDT for such a small skirt). I will try to remove such info directly in NifSkope. Again, than you for your help.
Vioxsis Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 No problem, though i didn't really do anything. I have no idea how the nifs are working in the first place, so much of it is just wrong .. But i guess the important part is that it is working. Also nice glasses in your SS.
Guest Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 The character I am trying to create looks like "Bayonetta" from the homonym game. Glasses are from an author on Internet (I don't remember the name, also because was a Japanese site.) The work really well. The clothes (top) original NIF is from LoversLab (Real Female) The skirt was from somebody on Internet that did a test HDT skirt. Very basic. All textures are done by me. Some scaling/movement of the NIFs are done by me (through NIFSkope and OutfitStudio.) I was never able to import the NIFs in Blender. Also because the required version of Blender is no more available. P.S. I will credit you for the help on the clothes. On the next release of the mod that will be in a couple of days.
Vioxsis Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 I made the glasses, they were my first ever mod as well as the first proper model i made after learning to use max. Every time i see a screen shot of them reminds me of that first week i first started modding. Learning to box model, planer model and spline model was a ridiculous amount of fun, and those glasses where what i made to test all i learned after about a week of messing around practising. So much joy seeing them in random screen shots.
Guest Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Ok. So you are "Orange" on the web site: http://dragonporn.ldblog.jp Or maybe him/her copied your glasses...
yatol Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Still not working. Bodyslide seems to be not able to fix this. ScreenShot4.jpg on the left the weights you left on that outfit on the right copy bone weights looking at the mess near the head, it's probably from the one that rename everything and if that oufit have v4 weights, there's more difference between unp and v4 than between unp and unpb so there's more problems if you don't reweight
Vioxsis Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Nope that's not me, but dragonporn and skyrim modtype are blogs that repost mods they find interesting from other places. So i don't think they posted them with any ill intentions, and even if they did i don't care, it was making them that i enjoyed not putting my name on them. Still every time i see a SS of them make me happy. I also made the earrings and the mask. https://mega.co.nz/#!hl9AWLhK!N_T_CWaJil5LLB3LEoI5NhzkhO4_ikZpf0wQ_3s8g_U ^ their in there if you want to use them. Though looking at my handy work in max i really sucked at modeling back then..

I started using BodySlide just a few days ago. But I am a quick learner, and maybe I will do something good. Right now I will use the two separate NIFs, and joining them in an Armor with two ArmorAddons. In this way it looks really nice on the NPC.
yatol Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 when you jump, the jump animation make the bones of the skeleton move the weights make the body, hairs, weapons, armors... follow those bones delete a tbbp outfit in the nif and put a version that don't have tbbp equip that oufit in game showracemenu and move the boob bones, body boobs get bigger, and clip thought that outfit, that don't follow that bone

This outfit is for a NPC, so I have little ability using RaceMenu (that works mainly only on Players or Faces that can be exported for NPCs) I will try to adjust the weights of the clothes to better follow the running/walking animations (the only ones needed.) My big problem is that the weights on OutfitStudio use colors to show the weights. I am really bad to recognize colors. But I will handle it.
