Greetings. Currently making good headway on making a standalone male follower. Then it occurred to me, HOW does one add SOS support for Standalone male followers? Is it even possible?

I tried doing a search for just that type of info, but alas I can't seem to find any info. Apologies if I'm asking a dumb question, but I would like to know if there is a way.

If he's vanilla race SOS should deal with it.

If not, it depends on how the race is made, and what kind of support do you want to add (adding a schlong to your body mesh ala sos-light, letting the user to pick a schlong through mcm, or forcing sos full to work with your race).

Seeing as I want to keep his own textures independent, I went with the custom race route (which just a modified vanilla imperial). So yeah forcing SOS full to work with my race would be ideal. If such is not possible I'm open to workarounds.

Normally you would need some kind of custom schlong for your race, but I'm thinking of an alternative method.

Does your follower mod have a script or quest? Does the follower have custom body meshes or textures?

Does my follower mod have a script or quest? Ah no, nothing so ambitious as that. Does my follower have custom body meshes or textures? Basically just the ones provided from SOS. If you got something cooking in that head of yours, I am all ears. :)

Mind you, I dont know what it looks like in CK, or if it even matters, but in the standalone ones that I have, it goes something like this:

meshes/actors/character/thecustomrace/malebody_0.nif (from default SOS)

meshes/actors/character/thecustomrace/malebody_1.nif

meshes/actors/character/thecustomrace/malefeet_0.nif

meshes/actors/character/thecustomrace/malefeet_1.nif

meshes/actors/character/thecustomrace/malehands_0.nif

meshes/actors/character/thecustomrace/malehands_1.nif

meshes/actors/character/thecustomrace/skeleton.nif  (all from SOS)

and then the textures in similar manner.  Of course, the .nifs have to be modified in nifskope to point to your customrace texture paths, or it will just use the default path.

The follower will default to having the hole-in-the-hip problem (at least in my version, I'm a few versions back), but you just go into the MCM to SOS' Player/NPC Settings, and give him your desired schlong.  Once you've set it, it stays.  That's pretty much it.

I did once have a follower that had a custom schlong, but don't any more, and can't remember which follower it was, but I remember that the pathing to get all that to work was fairly strange, because SOS really wants schlongs to all be in one place.

Since most of the standalone followers on nexus with bodies use better males (grrrr), I almost always manually overwrite the meshes and textures with SOS ones in just this way, and it works out just fine (except when they've created custom textures with scars and stuff...then I'm forced to blow those away when I overwrite).

Greetings!

May I ask for clarification on this topic?

I have downloaded a Male Standalone Follower (Teron the Reprobate) and i cannot get him to work with SOS Equipable Schlong (which works for all vanilla characters).

He appears to use the standard male nord race and does not have a skeleton file included, just meshes and textures.

I have XPMS Skeleton after SOS in my Load Order (don't know if this is relevant).

I tried overwriting his meshes with those from the SOS Light folder, but i get a CtD as soon as i ask him to undress.

What to do? Editing his files with Nifskope and if so, how exactly go I about doing that?

I have it installed and am ready to go, just don't know where to look.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
