Good settings for New Immersive First Person

Alright I really like to use sexlab animations from the first person however since the Immersive first person mod changed to no longer use MCM I find myself at a loss trying to understand the new file you have to edit. So I am asking if anyone has a settings file for the new IFPV that they find works well with sexlab that they would be willing to share. I have been having horrible clipping issues with the new mod and sometimes find that the camera is swapped to the back of my characters head during some animations.

Any help would be appreciated.

With 2.5 default configuration camera is still sometimes backwards?

Also version here is different from nexus, here a SL profile is included.

Just upgraded to the new version from this website and it seems like the head backwards has been fixed however I am still getting some clipping issues such as seeing in my characters nose and face during some of the animations.

Thanks for the heads up that this websites version is different from the nexus, which is where I had gotten it initially.

You can change position of camera in configuration, these two values:

fPositionOffsetDepth

fPositionOffsetVertical

Depth will make camera go forward and vertical will make it go up or down. By default depth is set to 3 and vertical 0 but you may want to change them to fix clipping for you.

IFPV was converted from a conventional mod to a SKSE plugin to improve its functionality, at the cost of being as easy to modify as it had been previously. The author seems to have put his faith on the idea someone else would make a third-party "configuration utility" for IFPV (similar to what's available for ENBs, HDT, and so on), in lieu of the MCM configuration menu it used to have.

On the page for IFPV here in Sexlab, the author did include an optional set of configuration parameters you can add to IFPV's config file which gives it a "Sexlab" specific configuration profile, which corrected the "reversed view" problem from the beginning. I believe he's simply just recently started releasing IFPV with that profile already added to the configuration.

The real issue with the current IFPV is that it doesn't have race-specific configurations. The viewpoint has the same positioning whether you're a nord, or a dark elf, or an argonian. As a result, what looks fine 99% of the time for a humanoid race, has the camera inside a beast-race's mouth/nose. The camera actually needs to be raised more, and only moved forward a little (if you just pull the camera forward, you'll get more top/bottom view cut off). Just keep in mind that even if you do reposition the camera "correctly", the bottom part of the screen will have the nose/muzzle of whatever race you're playing visible in it.

There's actually a really cheap and I suppose, slightly silly way to get around the problem that doesn't require altering configurations or anything at all. All you have to do is equip a headpiece that makes your head transparent. Alternatively, if you don't have/can't fiddle with a headpiece to make your head transparent, you can just stick an execution hood on your character during sex scenes, and it has the same effect.

Enhanced Camera might be what you're looking for.  As I understand the mod, it basically changes your field of perspective to fit a first person, and has the camera fixed about where your nose would be.  So if your character looks to the side, for example, your camera would as well.  I haven't personally tested it yet, but might want to check into it more as it is highly customizable.

Yes, the 2.0 and higher IFPV didn't turn out how I had hoped, I wanted to make the configuration easy but I also needed it to be able to set values over time, change values when exiting profile, complex conditions, create as many profiles as you want and in any order, bind keys to change profiles etc. all of this added up a very complicated system that can't be represented as simple INI file. :(

But the upside is that almost all problems can be solved using configuration file, so if I stop developing mod again for a long time like in 1.9 then people can find and post fixes themself without needing to know programming.

I thought about writing a tool to generate configuration file, but how do I make it simple enough that anyone can use? :P If I tried it would just turn out a big complicated mess again, my brain works in stupid ways.

Edit: try new 2.6 version, I tried to improve the SL animations a lot.

I really can't get it to "aim properly". It won't let me look up / down, ever, and I can only aim left / right when moving or using a weapon. I can't attach the camera to my target, let alone even aim at a target. It won't do free aim when I hold my binding (and I did bind it to an existing key, and I am using the proper key in-game). I also can't toggle headtracking via the keybind.

I can't find any tutorials for how to fix all of these problems in version 2.6, so maybe someone can help me here?

Sounds like your fRotationFromHead is set to 1 and head tracking is turned off.

Wrong.

!set fRotationFromHead 0

; Some internal values. Ignore these.
!set fExtraRotationFromCamera 0
!set bHeadtrack false

Right

That's kinda what the default setup is, though... so why is the default fucked up?

Sorry for the bump, but this problem is really annoying me big time. Not only did I hate the vanilla presets for the pre 2.0 mods, now I can't even fix them enough to be able to get my body to turn real-time, or to even aim at all...

Key differences i found with EC and IFPV is that IFPV prevents the character from moving 360 because the head does not rotate 360.

In terms of sexy time, EC moves the character around when you try to turn hence ruining the experience.

IFPV doesn't and well is perfect for sexy time, but I cannot get use to the gameplay with bows or even melee combat because I cannot see my weapon and cannot determine depth or reach.

Anyone have a solution?

I didn't use EC because it moved the position of my character when I use it during a scene. I ended up going back to IFPV and I found a setting in the ini file which disables going into IFPV when using the hotkey (default is F I think). If you turn that off then you will go back to "normal" vanilla FPV when you press F, while going into IFPV when you zoom in with mouse wheel. You can play around with the settings to decide which method works for you, but for me, having the ability to completely toggle off IFPV was the gamechanger, because the game is very difficult to play if I'm locked into using IFPV all the time because of aiming issues and how I cannot turn 360 in FPV when I'm actually trying to kill stuff lol

Here's my profile for SexLab, if anyone wants to try it. It's not perfect but I find it works in most scenes very well. (Adjust the FOV to your liking, I recommend 75-85).

[SLProfile]
(Keyword&SexLabActive)
+settween fRotationFromHead 1 0.2
-returntween fRotationFromHead 0.2
+set bHeadtrack2 false
-return bHeadtrack2
+set fNearClip 0.001
-return fNearClip
+set fNearClip2 0.001
-return fNearClip2
+settween fPositionOffsetVertical 0.2 0.2
-returntween fPositionOffsetVertical 0.2
+settween fPositionOffsetDepth 5 0.2
+returntween fPositionOffsetDepth 0.2
+settween fExtraRotationFromCamera 1 0.2
-returntween fExtraRotationFromCamera 0.2
+settween fRestrictAngleHorizontal 80 0.2
-returntween fRestrictAngleHorizontal 0.2
+settween fRestrictAngleVertical 85 0.2
-returntween fRestrictAngleVertical 0.2
+set iFaceCrosshair -1
-return iFaceCrosshair
+set fFOV 80
-return fFOV

Not much change from the defaults, but it works.
