Vampire Spawn Points

I tried asking this question on the Nexus but apparently nobody knows, lol.  Hence I'll try here with a  smaller but smarter audience. :D

So here's my situation...  I'm back to putting serious work in on my Dawnguard Sentries mod (on Steam).  The mod puts Dawnguard troopers inside cities and towns near vampire attack / raid spawn points.  The idea being to make protecting NPCs from those attacks a bit more immersive than setting them all Essential, and more complete than just using "When Vampires Attack" alone.

ANYWAY, aside from the upgrades I'm working on, I'm also revisiting coverage of those Vampire spawn points.  I believe I have at least most of the spawn points covered but there's a few places I'm looking for extra insight on:

1)  Solitude.  Never spent much time in that city for some reason.  I have 2 Sentries posted in the city gate courtyard to stop attacks.  I seem to recall somebody telling me there was a second vampire attack spawn point deeper in the city though.  If so, does anybody know where?  The more precise you can be, the better I can place my Sentries.

2)  Has anybody seen vampire attacks spawn at the stables outside of Solitude?

3) Markarth.  I've spent more time here, but I've never seen Vampire attacks spawn except at the main gate area.  Any other locations?

4)  Riften.  I have both spawn points inside the city covered.  What I'm curious about here is how often are the rest of you getting attacked outside  the city?  I seem to get attacked outside the main gate fairly regularly and I was wondering if it was just me.  Likewise let me know if there are other spawn points outside the walled section of the city (docks, farm nearby, etc...)

5)  Other towns??   Aside from all the hold capitals, I have Riverwood, Dragons Bridge, Ivarstead, and Shor's Stone already protected.   I've avoided putting Sentries in EVERY town because I don't want Skyrim to feel like a police state.  It seems unrealistic to cover EVERYTHING too when the Dawngaurd is new and still hurting a bit for manpower.  THAT SAID...  If anybody feels I missed a smaller town that factors into a lot of quests & is important, let me know.

6) Solstheim???  believe it or not, the only full playthrough I've done thus far had me playing Dragonborn AFTER I'd beaten Dawnguard as a Dawnguard member.   I'm assuming also that since Dragonborn came out AFTER Dawnguard that there are no Vampire attacks on Solstheim.  If I'm wrong, let me know and I'll see about a Dragonborn edition. :D

I and the townsfolk have been attacked right around the area here:

I can't give an exact location, because it always happens when I exit the Blue Palace or the Bard's College or something, and it takes me a couple seconds to walk over, by which time the fight has generally moved around a bit. My guess would be by the exit to Skyrim.

2)  Has anybody seen vampire attacks spawn at the stables outside of Solitude?

Never. Doesn't mean it can't happen there, just that I've never seen it. I don't spend much time around Solitude.

3) Markarth.  I've spent more time here, but I've never seen Vampire attacks spawn except at the main gate area.  Any other locations?

Just the main gate, yep.

4)  Riften.  I have both spawn points inside the city covered.  What I'm curious about here is how often are the rest of you getting attacked outside  the city?  I seem to get attacked outside the main gate fairly regularly and I was wondering if it was just me.  Likewise let me know if there are other spawn points outside the walled section of the city (docks, farm nearby, etc...) I often get attacked outside the main gate, and also outside the boarded up (not actually a door, looks like a boarded up gate) gate on the outer wall, I think there's a random creature spawn point there (because spiders and wolves have appeared there too).

5)  Other towns??   Aside from all the hold capitals, I have Riverwood, Often attacked by vampires here, right in the middle of town. Dragons Bridge, Never been attacked by vampires here, but again, I don't spend much time in Haafingar. Ivarstead, Rarely, but it has happened, mostly upon exiting the inn (cell change always, of course, but seems to happen most commonly on exiting the inn, not fast traveling there) and Shor's Stone Really? I've never been attacked by vampires there, IIRC... already protected.   I've avoided putting Sentries in EVERY town because I don't want Skyrim to feel like a police state. Dude. If you can get beheaded for opening a gate at the wrong time, or arrested for selling bad-tasting mead, or for yelling too loud, it is a police state already.  It seems unrealistic to cover EVERYTHING too when the Dawngaurd is new and still hurting a bit for manpower.  THAT SAID...  If anybody feels I missed a smaller town that factors into a lot of quests & is important, let me know. Nah, I think that about covers it... like you said, they're hurting for manpower, so maybe 2-3 guards in the main cities (one per exit, one patrolling between the two exits?) and maybe one randomly wandering about the smaller towns, should be good. I guess you could have amateur vampire hunters, the sort of "I want to prove myself to the Dawnguard so I've decided to patrol this mining camp and keep it safe from vampires" types, in the smaller settlements, though.

I've never had it happen to me, I believe that vampires are only limited to the mainland. If I'm wrong, let me know and I'll see about a Dragonborn edition. :D

Thanks Content Consumer, that was a huge help. :)  Looks like I have a couple of Sentries to add in Solitude and I guess around Riften's exterior.  Rfiten is close enough to Fort Dawnguard to merit extra protection.  I'd imagine it's Fort Dawnguard's major source of supplies after all.

You're mostly right about it being a police state too.  To be fair though, that opening the gate was a deliberate effort to let the jarl's killer escape.  Most cultures are going to consider that treason.  Of course, the counter argument to that is that Ulfric apparently challenged Torig to single combat in Nord tradition for the right to rule.  *shrug*
