 I'm having CTD when loading saves, but can't find the source and didn't find the exception address in already reported errors.

I believe this happens when Skyrim has so much memory/data/mods to load it can't handle it so it kills its own processors. That's why you didn't get an exception because Skyrim killed itself (wasn't a crash) the only way to fix this i have read is to coc to Riverwood and load your save game from there.

Another one which I believe is involving hdt physics. Keep in mind that I do have an HDT CBBE body and was wearing the HDT illustrious cloaks and was wearing CT77's HDT CBBE vanilla armors. This happened to me using Crash Fixes V6 from Nexus by meh321, ENB 304 with the enblocal thread settings with data sync = 1 and priority mode =0 and Safety Load with "enable only loading" set to true.

I believe this happens when Skyrim has so much memory/data/mods to load it can't handle it so it kills its own processors. That's why you didn't get an exception because Skyrim killed itself (wasn't a crash) the only way to fix this i have read is to coc to Riverwood and load your save game from there.

 

P.S In a post recently that i can-not find anymore someone explained this issue far better than me.

if it is your problem then that playthru is screwed u will need to remove mods that have high string hits. now this is for unloadable saves. what happens is when u load a unloadable save it will load till right before tej game actualy load u in then ctd.

Okay, so to follow up on my earlier post on page 29, I realized something strange happening with my Skyrim setup. Any crash that I might have had at a specific place that I can repeat can be completely avoided by turning on Papyrus logging.

 

You might think I was joking, but I am not, I have no idea why the engine behaves like that when it was supposed to terminate the application instead of allowing me to pass through a section of a dungeon, which crashes 100% on my current save game.

 

I had a little experiment earlier where I created a new character without changing anything, and teleported myself right at the Raven Rock mine, I was pleasantly surprised that I experienced no crashing. I didn't test with the quest related to the dungeon itself being enabled, the quest could have been bugged, but not even the unofficial patches tinker with "The Final Descent" quest, I have no idea what to blame for those dungeon crashes that keep reoccuring.

 

I was expecting to simply look at the sort-of obfuscated decompiled code for the Skyrim executable but that provided me with no answers because I don't know how to do it properly. And even if I did it would take me days before I at least knew what a single function did *sigh*. Tutorials don't help much at all.

 

I'm still wondering though, why in the unholy a** does Skyrim stop crashing for me when I turn on papyrus logging. It makes zero sense to me, because it's not a crash log and the logging isn't supposed to prevent crashes in the first place. I wish I could contact a guy at Bethesda to give me straight answer. Because this is doing my head in.

I don't see anything out of the ordinary, most of these are logged during normal sessions and aren't a threat. All I can think about being the problem is some invalid script variable, invalid script running in the background or one of my SKSE plugins simply having a laugh.

 

It's probably a bad idea to go testing my theories by disabling mods one by one and testing the save game in question to find some answers. Most of the time I would find the culprit after days of testing, but the crashes I've had before would occur in exterior cells, which happens extremely rarely now, because I've taken great care of my mod setup, avoiding mods from back before 2013 and those featured on blacklists helped to some degree before.

 

I'll try disabling some mods that I've had troubles with before and the ones that had fingers pointed at them fairly often for being unstable with the game and see if I can go though the dungeon without crashing.

 

EDIT: I disabled the logging, picked up the same crashing save and ran though the dungeon without crashing now. WTF MAKE UP YOUR MIND GAME! F**K! Why u do dis? :D So 2 out of 15 times I can get though the same place which crashes the game, great.

 

I turned off the XPMSE cloak type scripts, which might have helped greatly, I'm not sure. Groovtama had me assured that the scripts can run fairly well. But when looking in the save game script dissassembler it shows a different story. It might be that there are too many cloak type script running already which might be a cause for my concern.

 

I guess this is far from over, since I've had like 50-ish crashes for all those hours of gameplay before. From about half of them I have memory dumps that have my notes attached to them explaining where the crash happened and what has going on at the time.

Ok, now I have another CTD, happens in Whiterun and outisde Riften, I suspect it has something to do with a certain NPC because at night and under dragon attacks this doesn't happen (I have When Dragons Attack installed), but the moment the dragons die, when all the non-fighter NPCs should come out, my game crashes.

My latest crashdumplog and loadorder is attached to this message.

 

Occurence/Frequency: Sometimes after at least 10 minutes in the rift (It seems to never happen in interiors or towns, only in the Tamrielworldcell. I haven't compared the frequency in all of the holds except for the rift, whiterun's hold and Windhelm's hold but so far it's the worst in the rift) Most often when I exit Riften, open the map or use fast travel when I'm not in a town or interior area. It happens on new saves as well.

 

Things I've tried: Uninstall most of my texture mods to lighten up on memory usage.

Firstly, Why are you running both RLO and ELFX? That'll cause some nasty conflicts.

 

Secondly, If you're using frostfall 3.0, it comes with it's own textures for getting wet, cold etc. So you don't really need wet & cold, since it's pretty script heavy itself.

Also, if you are using 3.0, you do not need the Chesko_Frostfall patch.

 

Lastly and probably most importantly, you are running WAY too many plugins, it's no wonder your game is crashing. Anything over 250 and the weirdness starts, I suggest checking out http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69905/?.

 

Go into it's settings and disable anything to do with BSA's and content moving. You just need to merge the plugins then just disable the old ones. Don't merge anything with BSA's, heavy scripts or something that makes heavy changes to the landscape like SFO. Since you're running over the limit of plugins, you'll have to select them in groups, so select all your outfits and their dependencies for the first run (It'll show you what it needs in the list, just deselect all, then just go through and select the ones you want to try merge.) then all your Character mods, etc.

 

You'll want to make separate merges for your Outfits, Character Mods and Environmental stuff like Enhanced blood, Realistic Water two.

 

You have an ass-tonne of plugins so I can't really point out anything more specific than this because your load order is just a mess. It'd honestly be better to uninstall everything and go from the start, like I said on a previous post, following Anatriax's guide. 

 

 

I'm running RLO with (only) the Exterior plugin from ELFX because I like how it makes lights outside shine from longer distances. It's worked for about 80 hours at least.

I'll hold off from uninstalling Wet & Cold for now since it comes with Holidays and NPC's dressed for the weather. I don't use the snowy textures on my character as my ENB makes it glow in the dark, horribly immersion-breaking.

I thought the 250-limit was for active plugins only. I have 220 active ones.

I'll see about merging the plugins when I have the time. Thanks for the tip

 

 

If that combination is working for you, then do what you will. I'm just pointing out possible issues.

220 plugins is still a lot, I thought I saw more active ones than that, but yeah, give the Merge plugins a go. Maybe get rid of those ones you aren't using, might help too.

 

 

 

Ok, so I've uninstalled a lot of mods and now my Total Plugin count is 106 (Active Plugins: 96) and I still get the f#&*ing crashes. The most I can play in the TamrielWorld before a crash occurs is around 5 minutes but that's only if I'm lucky. Also, I checked all the crashdumplogs I had cause apparently they didn't all show the same ExceptionAddress value and I found out that one of them (which was created in 2016-04-11_19.29.10) had the Exceptionaddress 00a50a3d which one of the reported crashes had.

I'll put up the crashdumplog and my current loadorder for comparison with the old one. I'll sometime continue to uninstall mods and add to the "Things I've tried" list in my first post (which is at page 28, for direction). For now (...) I just want to go to bed.

i gave up reading half way thru that load order. lets start at the beging update your mods. switch to usleep and use the tes5edit usleep swtich scrip to change masters for those stsill need the old unoffical.

 

and for WTH ARE U USEING 3 didffernt llighting over hauls together. u  basicaly turning around and going give it to me in tthe bum skyrim as im trying to murder u with conflicting cell edits.

 

ill start first remove dynavision,chose either rlo or elfx u cant use but 1 lighting overhaul.

 

in my opinion do this remove all lighting mods but for laterns of skyrim. get vividian weather(it can be used with or without a enb). now reinstall elfx but only install the interior stuff.

now go updatae your mods and get usleep along with the tes5edit scrip that can be used to swap masters to usleep.

I started a new playthrough, I couldn't get past Dragonborn DLC properly without crashing a too many times so I said "F**k it! WE DOING IT LIVE!".

Updated, patched and re-ordered every mod (which took me a significant amount of time, so i cri everitim). All was well until I randomly crashed near Sacellum of Boethiah @ level 24. I knew there is a spawn point nearby and I wanted to clear it out ahead of my followers in case a troll spawns or something worse.

 

So I went near where a baddie should lurk, and I tried to shoot the wolf that spawned with a bow. My first shot failed, so I went for another one. And before the arrow could hit its face, the game decided to crash! Needless to say my swear jar is becoming full because of how random the engine is.

What's strange is that during the most random crashes that quite frankly rarely occur again on the same memory address, this "ntdll!__RtlUserThreadStart" and  "kernel32!BaseThreadInitThunk" appear on the dump log. Something in the just isn't quite right.
 
According to my own findings the crash was associated with pathfinding for NPC's. I don't have any overhauls that touch animals, so I have no idea why the crash happened. I hate these kind of stunts, especially when I get a craving to have a nice game session, just me and one of the most unpredictable game engines in the planet.

Freeze should be debugged in real time, usually the problem is contributed by multiple threads at same time. I recommend to use SafetyLoad if you get freezes, but it's still possible to have them with it, although rare.

My latest crashdumplog and loadorder is attached to this message.

 

Occurence/Frequency: Sometimes after at least 10 minutes in the rift (It seems to never happen in interiors or towns, only in the Tamrielworldcell. I haven't compared the frequency in all of the holds except for the rift, whiterun's hold and Windhelm's hold but so far it's the worst in the rift) Most often when I exit Riften, open the map or use fast travel when I'm not in a town or interior area. It happens on new saves as well.

 

Things I've tried: Uninstall most of my texture mods to lighten up on memory usage.

Firstly, Why are you running both RLO and ELFX? That'll cause some nasty conflicts.

 

Secondly, If you're using frostfall 3.0, it comes with it's own textures for getting wet, cold etc. So you don't really need wet & cold, since it's pretty script heavy itself.

Also, if you are using 3.0, you do not need the Chesko_Frostfall patch.

 

Lastly and probably most importantly, you are running WAY too many plugins, it's no wonder your game is crashing. Anything over 250 and the weirdness starts, I suggest checking out http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/69905/?.

 

Go into it's settings and disable anything to do with BSA's and content moving. You just need to merge the plugins then just disable the old ones. Don't merge anything with BSA's, heavy scripts or something that makes heavy changes to the landscape like SFO. Since you're running over the limit of plugins, you'll have to select them in groups, so select all your outfits and their dependencies for the first run (It'll show you what it needs in the list, just deselect all, then just go through and select the ones you want to try merge.) then all your Character mods, etc.

 

You'll want to make separate merges for your Outfits, Character Mods and Environmental stuff like Enhanced blood, Realistic Water two.

 

You have an ass-tonne of plugins so I can't really point out anything more specific than this because your load order is just a mess. It'd honestly be better to uninstall everything and go from the start, like I said on a previous post, following Anatriax's guide. 

 

 

I'm running RLO with (only) the Exterior plugin from ELFX because I like how it makes lights outside shine from longer distances. It's worked for about 80 hours at least.

I'll hold off from uninstalling Wet & Cold for now since it comes with Holidays and NPC's dressed for the weather. I don't use the snowy textures on my character as my ENB makes it glow in the dark, horribly immersion-breaking.

I thought the 250-limit was for active plugins only. I have 220 active ones.

I'll see about merging the plugins when I have the time. Thanks for the tip

 

 

If that combination is working for you, then do what you will. I'm just pointing out possible issues.

220 plugins is still a lot, I thought I saw more active ones than that, but yeah, give the Merge plugins a go. Maybe get rid of those ones you aren't using, might help too.

 

 

 

Ok, so I've uninstalled a lot of mods and now my Total Plugin count is 106 (Active Plugins: 96) and I still get the f#&*ing crashes. The most I can play in the TamrielWorld before a crash occurs is around 5 minutes but that's only if I'm lucky. Also, I checked all the crashdumplogs I had cause apparently they didn't all show the same ExceptionAddress value and I found out that one of them (which was created in 2016-04-11_19.29.10) had the Exceptionaddress 00a50a3d which one of the reported crashes had.

I'll put up the crashdumplog and my current loadorder for comparison with the old one. I'll sometime continue to uninstall mods and add to the "Things I've tried" list in my first post (which is at page 28, for direction). For now (...) I just want to go to bed.

 

 

i gave up reading half way thru that load order. lets start at the beging update your mods. switch to usleep and use the tes5edit usleep swtich scrip to change masters for those stsill need the old unoffical.

 

and for WTH ARE U USEING 3 didffernt llighting over hauls together. u  basicaly turning around and going give it to me in tthe bum skyrim as im trying to murder u with conflicting cell edits.

 

ill start first remove dynavision,chose either rlo or elfx u cant use but 1 lighting overhaul.

 

in my opinion do this remove all lighting mods but for laterns of skyrim. get vividian weather(it can be used with or without a enb). now reinstall elfx but only install the interior stuff.

now go updatae your mods and get usleep along with the tes5edit scrip that can be used to swap masters to usleep.

 

 

Like I said, I'm only using the ELFX - Exteriors.esp which seemed to work with RLO as it seems to only increase the light range of exterior light sources like campfires etc.

Does NLA ENB count as a lighting mod? I'd rather keep Natural lighting and atmospherics.esp rather than switching to vividian weather (NLA is also recommended to be used along with RLO)

I'll switch to Usleep sooner or later.

It was caused by papyrus "Enable" command. Maybe something to do with lights or light object was enabled, seems like light pointer was missing in extra data. If you can reproduce this reliably let me know.

Reloaded the game after the above crash & the cell loaded normally upon restarting the game.  Like I said, an error I hadn't seen before the above instance.

Weeeell, I'm brand new to loverslab, and I hope it's OK for me to lumox into this thread looking for some help making sense of a CTD I'm getting.

 

It's a brand new playthrough, based on STEP, but with quite a few gameplay mods added. I'm coming back to Skyrim after some time away, and I've taken time to update bunch of mods - but something is just ... off. I can do a Vurt test for almost 10 minutes, then CTD - or I can fight a wolf outside Riverwood and CTD immediately. Different places, too - nothing repeatable so far. Papyrus logging hasn't given me anything, and my memory logs max out at around 350 / 215 when I CTD.

 

The single thing that seems to hold across the crashes are my SKSE crash dumps, which all tie into ExceptionAddress 004c119e (TESV+0x000c119e) - no matter where and under what circumstances they happen.

 

Another poster here, druninja, was getting this same code, and ended up getting some help from Sheson over at Step. His issues had to do with DynDoLOD trying to loada missind mesh (I think). However, although I DO use DynDoLOD, it's debug routine hasn't given me anything useful.

 

I don't have enough posts to use the spoiler, so I've uploaded two text files with an example of the reports I'm getting.

See what happens if you uninstall all mods that modify tree mesh.

 

Edit: actually forget that, I made a updated crash fix plugin. If this particular crash should happen it should print out a message box with the object reference form ID, base form ID and form Type. Using that you can find out what the object is and then what the broken mesh file may be.

 

Post result here, if it didn't work I must adjust and if it did work it would be good to know. I can't test the crash myself because I never had it.

Wow - that worked! - thanks so much!!

 

I play in fullscreen with Crossfire, which makes things a little hairy - but although the game locked up hard - I had to sign out of Windows to get control back - I was still able to alt-tab to the message and jot down the references: form ID 0x240132cc, base form 0xc000d68.

 

It turns out that this is an issue between DynDoLOD and ICROL Realistic Outdoor Lights. The mesh that the game is failing to find is the following: 

 

\meshes\Meshes by Necrocytosis\Clutter\Signage\FarmLanternPostShort.nif

 

However, it looks like I'm going to have to ask Sheson for some more help with the crash. When I run explorer++  in MO, that .nif file *is* present in the correct folder, and nifskope opens it like a champ. Since DynDoLOD has some optional ICROL scripts that are supposed to turn those lights off during the day, I suspect that something has got messed up. (Most likely: I installed it wrong!)

Everything was running pretty smoothly till here...

Since I am using ENBoost, most of the geometry and texture information is handled by it instead of the main process. Since ENBoost has it's x64 setting disabled (because it gives me more random crashes) it too is limited to 4GB. But I'm only using half of it. The main heap shouldn't overflow because I did move my character with fast travel which should have refreshed the usage, I only moved by a few cells before this happened and in my previous recorded crashes there are no other memory addresses recorded by SKSE memory dump that are similar to c76b66.

 

heap #1 should leave about 150MB free in case of something. But heavier setups running DynDOLOD should have defaultHeapInitialAllocMB set to at least 1024. Didn't have much issues @ 768, but I guess I'm rasing it just to be sure since I think 1024 is pretty safe.

 

f819xx crashes never happened anywhere else but in a certain location, shouldn't conflict with menus at all.

Happens at times whenever I try to open a specific weapon container inside Riverside Lodge, which is a buildable house (Redux version) from a mod. What's not funny about it is that it usually likes to crash after a long dungeon and not saving afterwards. Like just now.

 

The formid is xx11C3AF, it's used twice inside the interior cell and doesn't have any scripts attached to it like some other containers inside the worldspace.
