Looks like corrupted mesh file.

Well that explains it, whenever I point my crosshair on it, it may or may not crash which is damn annoying. And what's even weird is how I found that nobody posts anything on the mod page about crashing.

I'll try to contact the mod author about this, after messing around xEdit to see if changing the mesh helps. Thanks.

The corrupted mesh is in container, not the container itself. Try installing that quickloot mod thing, then you can see what's in container without loading the meshes of those objects, start taking objects one by one, open your inventory, if it doesn't crash and shows up properly in inventory then that wasn't the mesh that was corrupt.

Okay, I'll try that. QuickLoot itself isn't the most stable thing ever and crashes sometimes whenever it likes, that's why I stopped using that mod. I'll edit this post after checking the container. By the way the custom "container" uses a static mesh over the container itself to appear custom.

So there's two meshes in use total, One that is vanilla and the custom one.

Edit: QuickLoot doesn't pop up its menu when pointing at the container. Browsing the arrows that I added, taken them, and looked at from the inventory doesn't crash the game.

I got in contact with the mod author, he has no idea why a crash happens for me. He uses the same BSA archive as anybody else. So I'll try switching the mesh myself to see if I can reproduce the crash.

Edit2: Trying to make the game crash on purpose is as impossible as it was before I tried consulting with anyone. And changing the mesh for the long run doesn't make much sense but I can do it.

Edit3: I deleted the static meshes in the esp for a loooong test. If the game doesn't crash within a few weeks, I'll consider that it was either a corrupt mesh or something that's conflicting with them.

Would you have any remarks about crashes that leave a 0k crash dump that can't be read at all? After solving the crash I asked about a page back, I've now just had a "zero-dump-crash." I've had a few of these in the past, and I don't have a ghost of an idea what could be causing them. The one I got today, I was just standing around the smithy in Whiterun, doing absolutely nothing. In fact, I left the program to do something in the other room for maybe 3-4 minutes. When I came back, all I could see was the desktop.

Could this be a hardware-related issue? (My GPU was overclocked at the time.)

I've had some of these before but only if Skyrim doesn't load properly. this doesn't happen to me when a character save is loaded. I doubt it's the hardware, unless a driver had crashed and recovered (which can happen with a bad driver or an AMD card overheating, but AFAIK after the AMD GPU driver induces a crash, the system should be stuck on a black screen until you restart it), then it would probably make an empty crash dump.

You could check through Windows Event Manager, and looking if it was the driver/kernel/dll file or the Skyrim executable that logged a possible error. Hopefully you can remember the time that it happened, you might find it harder to find if there are many errors logged for that day.

Good thoughts, those - thanks!

- Nothing of any interest on Event Manager, unfortunately. And it DOES record things like Trixx crashes. (Still, duh. Should have thought to check there first thing.)

- My 0k logs have all come from inside a loaded savegame - and of the 50 or so CURRENT logs I have in my folder, I'd say they make up more than half of the crashes. The only pattern I see is that they started when I started playing around with Skyrim again a couple weeks back. (I.e., I don't have 0k logs back from my last playthrough in 2015.)

Here's two crash reports. The first one is my most repeated crash and the second one is my most recent crash. Please help identify the problem if you can

ExceptionAddress: 00690a69 (TESV+0x00290a69)

I updated my Legacy of the Dragonborn and now I crash every time I try to enter Blackreach, so I'm trying to see what I magically, mysteriously broke now or if it's actually not my fault this time.

It's memory address where code is. Nothing to do with forms. Can't say anything with only memory address, although it seems like base form of actor is NULL.

Well, for a moment I was also getting the crashies inside a house that I built, that had no NPCs in the room I was trying to enter. I was also crashing in a different room of that same house, trying to access a respawning loot container. The crashes stopped, at least in this house, when I turned off More Interesting Loot's "Cursed Items" and "New Ingredients" options.

I can enter Blackreach on a new save, but not on my most recent save, which upsets me because I've made a lot of progress on it and I've already got about a billion half-finished saves because every time I get an interesting new mod or need to update a big one I usually have to start a new save.

Yes but the game can do a lot of stuff in background too, sometimes it doesn't matter where you are or what you are doing for the game to crash. Function that crash heppened in is "GarbageCollector::Add", argument is actor but the base form is NULL. Garbage collector stuff is usually only processed when the game world is paused, this for example happens during loading screen or when you enter menus.

Another CTD with an exception address I've never seen before.  Details follow:

Well the idea originally was to make a catalogue of all crashes + addresses. So when you have a crash you can look up which one it is, see what it relates to and if many people have the same crash they may be able to pinpoint the cause. I'd still like to do that however I haven't had the time to go over everything in the thread and write it down.

Skyrim has crashed. A minidump containing debugging information is being written to C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\SKSE\Crashdumps\2016-04-24_10.01.01.dmp.
top-level exception filter hit multiple times

and the dmp file is empty... 0 kb and empty... any ideas what is causing this and why the dmp is empty?

Alright, I give up. Spent a good 8 hours each day the past two days trying to figure out this crash. Ended up reinstalling/uninstalling a bunch of different things trying to fix it, but getting the same error. I will inconsistently (Sometimes temporarily consistent) crash after ending the dialogue with NPCs.

Any ideas?

Edit: Interesting enough, in my case, it was Facelight Plus. Tried multiple times on the same NPC who would cause me to crash 9 times out of 10 after ending a conversation, and I get no crash or even lag when disabling Facelight on NPCs in the MCM menu. I don't know if it's my specific set up causing problems or not, but it worked, so cheers?

Thank you for the reply. I have a good 30 or so times of repeating the crash.

Sometimes I won't get an Exception Address, which I figured had to do with the load, but I wanted to note that

Whenever it doesn't work, I don't know if that's of any of importance but the similar letter/number combination was there.

They all seem to be similar with the "OnSetRender" and "SetVertexShader" information. Out of the ones I've looked at there isn't much more information. If it likely has to do with the shadowcaster lights, I could try uninstalling my enb/lightning overhauls and seeing if that works.

Any Chance I can get a little insight into the following?

It's reminiscent of a kind of crash I've had fairly often in my recent savegames, in that it happens while I'm quietly walking though the Bannered Mare doing absolutely nothing of interest. No conversations, no combat, no new mods - only one glitch comes to mind: "Save Hot Key ArchMod - for SKSE" has stopped working.

If I got a CTD in the middle of combat with 10 SoT & OBIS-spawned enemies throwing Apocolypse Spells by means of ASIS, swinging weapons from 3 different mods while running improved combat animations from a couple different mods - THAT I could understand. But no. I get a CTD in the pub ...

I am guessing this has to do with Memory, as I searched around for the meaning of heap_corruption.

Any ideas on how to fix it.

I have been playing skyrim (modded) and have just recently  purchased a new GTX 980 Ti 6gb and install the Ck for skyrim.
