Reducing the amount of scripts in my game

For once I have no problem despite posting here the only thing I want to do, is to reduce the amount of scripts in my game.

If you want to help someone with serious bugs you might wanna leave this topic since this is not related to bugs or anything.

And if you tell me a mod that is running many scripts so that it would be better to disable it I would appreciate it if you would tell me (if possible) a good alternative. That's all :D

if you use "SexLab Aroused" instead of "SexLab Aroused Redux", use Redux version it less heavy on scripts.

Like I said, the items are coming from Assets. Integration and Expansion are those heavy script mods which adds the restrictions for the items. Well and Expansion has some other items too.

 Then I should probably consider disabling Expansion since that's not a requirement :D also I think SD+ makes use of those scripts from Integration but I'm not sure because the best I can do add modding is a little mesh tweaking and esp tweaking :/

Integration only polls the character / npc's once per 1.5 hours in game, otherwise it only does things when devices are activated. As for the Expansion, all it adds are items nothing else. If you are having issues with slow running scripts check mods like SexLab Creatures which checks the arousal of creatures every 5 seconds (by default) or others that check the surroundings constantly.

I'm running Devious Devices, Defeat, Daymol, a ton of mods not having a lot of issues.

 

I've noticed that not many ppl are into using TesVedit xEdit merge script but you should simply put having a butt ton of esp files for your game to load is not good for your game.

 

Although it should be obvious I'll state that you should examine the contents of any esp that your considering merging for errors and the like, Although this is covered rather well in You Tube Tutorials on both web pages so you should be covered if your willing to put the time in to get your stuff going right.

 

Some things Im not sure are needed anymore

Gags - you have 4 esp's right there that were pretty much integrated.

 

High Res Texture Packs, if your using Mod Organizer you should be covered and removing these from the Data folder would then be a Good idea. 3 More ESP's gone.

 

Deviously Helpless has an updated esp hiding in the forum comments.

 

Female Mannequins Nords, hmm try Mannequin Statues (has no script)

 

Dibellian Defender, Scripts and well whole point of DD is to be helpless

 

FNIS sexy move, every cell load a script fires assigning every female a walk/run type

 

MANA Tanks, uh script fires every spell cast

 

Your Entire installation of COT plus all of its Patches, Scripts and performance reasons when using Sexlab mods.......Perhaps my opinion isn't good enough here but I assure you normal weather is less performance hungry and actually does look fine, plus your not blind at night and having to download 5 other mods to fix night travel.  IE mod download spiral sux

 

FrostFall and Wet n Cold, uh those are script heavy.....is Ineed in there I thought you were playing a Succubus you eats sperms and are warm always cause your a Demon.

 

SMIM, performance reasons really do you need high poly rope textures your not going to spend time looking at anyway?

 

Shaydows Vampire Lord alongside PSQ_Succubus makes no since to me and I daresay might cause issue

 

With all of your Tattoo Mods, Overlays, Player Looks stuff's all sitting apart when they should all be merged into one esp for performance reasons

 

Well its no wonder your looking for stuff to pull out man.  Your Load times probably are bad or not as good as they should be.

 

Attached below is a list of my Plugs.

 

Its under 90 plugs but the thing is there is actually twice that many its just that they are merged into 3 separate plugs.

Okay I already disabled the gags while rereading my loard order here aswell as the mannequins taking out sexy move should is fine for me in any way the only reason I didn't merge the overlays was because last time I did the still didn't show properly on the overlays tab but I have that issues since upgrading to 3.0+ of it I tought I already disabled wet and cold well thanks for pointing that out helpless is good to go aswell.

As for the high res thingies Mod organizer told me the esps of them only exist for as a sort of dummy file so I disabled the esp if that does the trick.

As for Dibellan defender is really like Frostfall so until there's some kind of compability for that I should take it out aswell.

I had no clue shaydows vampire lord uses scripts so that'll be deleted too I doubt there will be any Issues since I don't really use psq in all my saves.

 

Altogether that's a very good list of mods I most likely won't really miss much and are more performance hungy I tought. The only issues I had (lately after fixing my previous ones) where crashes then and when on load, I think with that good list those won't be as likely anymore.

And if you can by chance pass me a tutorial for merging plugins I'd be happy about it because I have no clue how to actually merge them and if I even did it properly.

 

(As for DD really the only reason I use it is because it's a requirement for other mods. Example: SD+)

Considering everything has to be done with a script in the CK having a lot of them is not an issue. What you should be looking at is mods that are constantly checking npc's or the general area and making adjustments to those, especially ones that do it every few seconds. According to the last release the Expansion only has 8-10 scripts with it, Integration has about 150. With the last version of Captured Dreams I had 844 of them but I don't have any that run constantly and every few moments.

Yeah there was one like that Immersive NPC's in the dark I disabled it as a result of your advice. I used because it was odd that the npcs would never use torches but even with this they didn't really use them until they entered combat.

Having a lot of script heavy mods really isn't an issue in itself, the issue is with ones that are not done well and cause repeated errors. I have about 30 Sexlab / DD mods running among the 240+ esp/esm's with very few issues. Check through the your papyrus log and look for repeated errors whenever you add a new mod or every so often.

 

This isn't a lot of scripts...

On which mods I would merge together without a thought using Xedit

 

First thing I did was basically the easiest, Merge all of the mods that you have to have to make your character pleasing to look at.

It's actually pretty simple, you download the new Xedit Script from Nexus and watch the video.

Once you have your merge file it'll be in Mod Orginizer's Overwrite Folder

You make a new folder, then activate it, (For Overlay Mods merged I like to have that folder loaded before Racemenu folder in left column avoids missing stuff....Although sometimes missing stuff is a memory error from having too many overlays)

 

Next thing that is super easy, Armor/Outfits/Custom costumes all of that merge that into one ESP.

 

Next, Game Fixes

Like Medium Force or even simple as Arrow Accuracy Tweak, I have a surprising amount of these little fixes like Aquisitive Soulgems and well it never ends when its small little one off fixes.

Merge those but be sure if your merging Medium Force to then place your new folder above XPMSE skeleton folder in MO

 

Almost all of those very handy MCM Menu Mods, merge em!

Basically Auto Helmet, Auto Unequip Arrows, Ihud, LessIntrussive Hud II, etc etc

I have a ton those all merged even SkyTweak merged into a mod I call Menu Hud Merge

 

Landscape, Home Mods, and Places

These are actually the real tricky ones, cause sometimes they are made poorly and contain errors that were never resolved........Going about the process of decideing to merge these is good because you follow a tut and learn to figure out oh this mod has <errors> everywhere maybe I should just delete that mod altogether.

 

I highly suggest taking a good look at it especially the places stuff cause seriously those tend to be real land mines from time to time and going through them will reveal that to you.

 

If your Die Hard about a good performing game check out xedit.

There is one mod that I regret merging and that is called,

 

JKsWhiterun I regret that because of performance issues when running around Whiterun.  I'd like to have say inconsequential Npc's plus Interesting NPC.  Trouble is that is a whole bunch more stuff in Whiterun >< I should have left Whiterun alone and just added the NPC mods so the ppl were interesting.

 

So basically the tricky part about merging a bunch of Places is say its a major city like Whiterun well there are a lot of cool WR mods and only so many can be run at the same time cause you can grind your performance in that spot to a halt.
