Zankul82 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 So I did a search of where to start off. I have modded before but always using a manager. And always only 2 or 3 mods per game. Usually graphic enhancers, and combat improvements. I am looking for a beginners guide on which mods i need.(by need i mean which am i going to want) I downloaded and installed Skyrim. I am about to follow http://www.loverslab.com/topic/25219-getting-started-with-sexlab-how-to-install-sexlab-and-its-requirements/ But that seems like only a start. I then need to separately get all the fun mods. (i think) So is there a top 10 or 15 mods that are a good place to start off with. I'm talking adult mods specifically. And if there are a few must have non adult mods i should get please let me know. And I know the simple answer is its different for everyone. But try and understand that for someone who has never really modded and is new to this sight, there are what seems like hundreds of mods on here. Which is overwhelming. I guess my ideal list would be a who's who list with enough mods for me to get lost for a few months. And then when i have seen everything there is to see, then start exploring some of these other mods one by one and seeing what i like. I haven't played skyrim since it first came out. I did everything there was to do, non modded. Want a new play-through that will be entertaining if not different. With hopefully lots of adult opportunities. I thank you in advance, for both reading my lengthy message and for any responses. And apologize in advance if this is already somewhere. I looked for it and searched but feel like a lost wanderer in a new country.
bob223355 Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 easiest thing would be to head to downloads and hit the popular tab. not too many mods that are must haves unless you are into something particular...which changes things. things like SOS schlongs of skyrim, skeleton xp32 replacer mod, ZAZ animation pakc, and FNINS are good starters.
Spyder Arachnid Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 If you're looking for the sex stuff, we need more information. Tell us what you like. Now, don't be shy, and don't worry what others will think either. If you have a flavor, say so. We all have our own things, and mostly, this site caters to most of them. But in order to help you in that department, you gotta give us something to go off of. As for basics, well, it varies really. But there is a few "must haves" out there. -Unofficial Patches: Obviously must haves. If using all the DLC, get all the patches (the links to the others are in the description). -Brawl Bugs Patch: This is mostly a safe guard. It fixes brawls so they don't turn into assaults. -SkyUI: A better UI. They plan on bringing the new version to Nexus soon, so you could wait if you wanted. It just adds crafting menus. -ShowRaceMenu PreCache Killer: This keeps you from crashing when using too many hair mods (this is already included in RaceMenu if you use it). -Fuz Ro D-oh: If you use any mod that has custom dialogue, but no voice over, you'll need this. -Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE): Needed for pretty much everything. Use this to launch Skyrim. Most mods rely on this, so safe to get it now. Those are pretty much the "must haves" when it comes to just regular game play. Then you get to your personalized "must haves", which consist of your own mods that you need. Stuff like specific body types, environmental textures, overhauls, armors and weapons, etc etc. Everyone has their own list so we could go on and on about what you "must have" in your game. There are a few "kind of must haves" that could help though or make the experience better. Things like: -Multiple Floors Sandboxing: This allows npcs to use all levels in a house and interact with things around your houses. More immersive is all. -Bookshelves Updated SKSE Script: If you're a huge book collector and like stuffing all your books on your shelves, get this. It fixes the books to actually fill bookshelves. -AddItemMenu: Instead of having to search through the console or find modded items in your game, this allows you to add items via their plugin directly. Extremely handy. Then you got your programs to help you out. Such things like: -TES5Edit and the Merge Plugin Script: TES5Edit is great for cleaning your mods, and many other things. The Merge Plugin Script is for merging mods to help cut down your list. -SMCO: Skyrim Mod Complex Optimizer. Not complex at all, and will optimize your textures to help with better performance. -Save Game Script Cleaner: Skyrim loves to bake scripts into your save file. So when removing old scripted mods, use this to get rid of those old scripts. That is pretty much the basics of anything and everything. The rest is more complex personal recommendations, but without knowing what you're going for, I'll let you decide on that. Since you've been away for awhile, I'd suggest trying out Mod Organizer instead of Nexus Mod Manager now. Unless of course you're still comfortable with NMM, then nevermind. Also, most people use LOOT now to sort their load order. BOSS still works, but is outdated and most stuff you'll have to sort yourself via a user list. But hope that helps. If you have anymore questions on getting started, let us know. And when you get together your sex stuff, let us know too and we can help there as well. One last important note: RTFM Seriously. Before installing any mod, read the description. It will save you a TON of frustration later. So many people don't read the description, and then come complaining why doesn't X mod work, when all they had to do was Read The F***ing Manual. So take the time to read a description of any mod you download, so you know what is required of it.
neiio Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I come from the Sims 3 section of this website and am fairly new to Skyrim but accustomed to the modding procedures since I've played/modded Fallout 3 & New Vegas a lot, okay so what I'm looking for is something that is similar to Amra72's sex animations but doesn't have to be that level of quality. I'm also looking for erect male character since all I encounter like 99% of the time are female characters and the few males I do find aren't what I'm looking for. Preferably something that uses the default "nude" outfit so it doesn't mess with armor too much. I installed Goubo's "defeat mod" but they have sex with their clothes on. I'm going for realism so please give me advice <3 Thanks in advance!!
Spyder Arachnid Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Well you can find I believe Amra's sex animation in Skyrim as well. If you're using SexLab already, just get the Non SexLab Animation Pack. It has those, and many other random extra animations in it. The same ones you'll find in Sims 3 (Used to play Sims 3 as well, and I recognize several of those in Skyrim using the above mod). Alternatively, you could use the new SexLab Framework alpha. From my understanding it has all those animations already included in it, so no extra mod needed now. As for erect male, the most popular choice is Schlongs of Skyrim. It works just fine with the default stuff, so no worries there. But it is a fully animated penis, that stays flaccid normally, and then gets erect for sex. There is even tons of mods that add extra support for it as well (like cumshot so it actually cums, or aroused, so when they get aroused they get erect, things like that). It is basically the staple for SexLab, though I've been hearing SAM isn't too bad either (never tried it myself). You can even use Schlongs of Skyrim to give females penises as well (if you wanted that). Don't forget after you install all that, to also install XP32's Maximum Skeleton Extended. Let it overwrite everything, as it is basically a necessity for all that to function. And I can't stress this enough. Make sure to read the descriptions of those mods so you know what to do and get the required files for them. Hope that helps.
Zankul82 Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 @spyderarachnid thanks for the info. I will add those to the list. Of things to get. As for preferences. I'm kinda interested in everything. Sex, bdsm, you name it I'm willing to try it. I'd like to have some npcs that I have to romance slowly and get them in the mood. But I am also a fan of random whores that are all about it at the drop of a hat. like I said I am looking for a good starting point. I will check out the most popular of downloads, I didn't even know there was a downloads tab till it was above mentioned. There is a lot to consume. I'll eventually get around to trying everything. Thanks again
