Sarge_the Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Hi there, Im new to this use of mods thing But I would love to try this. Everywhere I see people talking about Steam version of Skyrim, but I have a Retail store version, will this work also or do I really have to buy the game thru Steam again ? If anyone can help with with some nice mods I would appreciate the help . Thanks all, Sarge
Foulmouth Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 How did you get your "retail version" to work without registering it on steam ?
Sarge_the Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 to be honost no idea, I would have to look it up. I installed this game long time ago and was still installed on my pc. Just came across last week when I saw this modding stuff.
bahamut2119 Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 They will still work but your version doesn't sound legit yes you can buy a copy in store but it still has to use steam.
Sarge_the Posted April 16, 2015 Author Posted April 16, 2015 Thanks for the info, when im off from work I will check it out, because it was long time ago it could be a downloaded version. And I may be confused with the Xbox version I bought 2. Got it later for PC so yeah could be possible.
Spyder Arachnid Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Skyrim is a Steam game only (for PC). If you have another version that doesn't use steam, it is a pirated copy. We don't support piracy here. Get a legal copy.
Ashal Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Skyrim has never been provided legally as a non-steam version for PC. Any legal retail version of Skyrim for PC will install/use Steam. If you bought a retail copy that isn't using Steam, you are either somehow misunderstanding how the install is working and not noticing Steam, or you have purchased an illegally copied version of the game. To avoid unwanted attention, LoversLab is strict on piracy, and unfortunately we are unable to help you in this instance, while being aware that it is not a legal copy. Thread Locked.
