SexyTop69
When I go into Cracked Tusk Keep Gunzul keeps being an non orc anything else but an male orc (not even female) and it's driving me up the wall I don't know what else to do and I am looking for the mod that might be causing it I can't find it I suspect OBIS or EBD and I don't know how but when I went to go look in the Skyrim.esm in TESEDIT I saw underneath his race was fox and I was wondering why any of this is happening please help! loadorder.txt Papyrus.0.log Link to comment
Content Consumer
I don't think I understand... Ghunzul is supposed to be a male orc. He's never any other race or gender. I may have misunderstood your post... are you saying that he is or is not a male orc? Link to comment
SexyTop69
He spawns not to be an male orc or ether an orc he randomly spawns as an redguard male or female, imperial, or an few other races but never what he is supposed to be, I think OBIS may be the culprit but then I look in the skyrim.esm to find that he's listed to be an fox race which I have never edited the skyrim.esm then it starts to get confusing. Content Consumer
Okay... and that's just really odd. Ghunzul should always be a male orc, and his swapping out race/gender must be a mod. It's nothing to do with the foxrace (probably)... there are actually a couple of humanoid NPCs in the game who have foxrace IIRC. Ghunzul may have a default foxrace, but it's grayed out because he is actually calculated from a template. In Gunzul's case, there's a convoluted chain of templates going on (click the spoiler for madness)... Ghunzul is a member of the "LvlBanditBossOrcMAmbush" which is itself a member of the "LvlBanditBossOrcM" template which is a member of the "LCharBanditBossOrcM" template which is pulled from a pretty standard leveled character list, that references the actor "EncBandit02Melee2HOrcM" which is a template of the "EncBandit02Melee1HOrcM" which is a template of the "EncBandit02TemplateMelee" which is a template of the "EncBandit00Template" which is not a member of anything else, so goddamn finally we're done with templates, I haven't felt this way about a stupid chain of inheritances since... well, since the last time I looked at anything programmed in Java. But back up a few steps... the "EncBandit02Melee2HOrcM" template is set as an Orc Race, which I believe (unless I missed something somewhere, which is quite possible) that that actor is the one you need to look at. And opening up skyrim.esm won't actually tell you anything about whether or not a mod is affecting it... mods are like band-aids, they go on top without altering anything in skyrim.esm itself. It could very well be OBIS that's the culprit - I've never used it, so I don't know. You could ask in the Obis support forum back on the Nexus, maybe someone else has noticed this problem and maybe there's a fix. Link to comment
SexyTop69
Finally a method to the madness, it's like he is part of the bandit mafia or something, lol. I'm pretty sure it's probably OBIS it edits alot about bandits something must have flown out of whack I'll keep ya updated gonna take me a bit to figure this out but you made things sooo much clearer thank you Link to comment

SexyTop69
Good news! I got him to show back up but he won't attack you for some reason it was the referenced NPC you said it was. Link to comment

Interesting... I guess a pacified Orc is better than a hostile Nord. If he's nonhostile, it might be that his factions were messed up. Link to comment

Yeah, I couldn't find anything else but he was always nonhostle when this problem appeared so I think his factions was messed up by OBIS. I'll go look in the factions now and see if I can find anything. Link to comment
SexyTop69
It seems that Deviously Helpless.esp WD_TmpPlayerFaction is conflicting with OBIS concerning factions? Trying to figure out how WD_TmpPlayerFaction works any ideas? Or maybe I should just put Deviously Helpless ahead of OBIS in the load order? Link to comment
Content Consumer
You've got me. I don't use OBIS... but I suppose that would work. Honestly, I've heard a lot of semi-negative stuff about OBIS, but they're the same stuff you hear about any mod that adds in NPCs... conflicting with vanilla factions and other mods that add or modify factions. For example, I'm using Populated Skyrim mods, and the bandits at Valtheim towers work just fine for the LAL start, but if you go there during the game they're all hostile and don't even give you a chance to pay the toll. All I can say is that utilities like LOOT are very good at sorting load orders, but they still require tweaking afterward. Link to comment
SexyTop69
Well, at least he is an orc again, lol. I know I have used OBIS for an while and used Deviously Helpless longer and with it and it never did this before, I suppose it may be the update they did to OBIS guess it might as well be something I just might have to deal with as long as the two mods are used. Oh, that's part of why I have problems with LOOT, mods that it isn't aware of get pulled all out of order and cause alot of headache for me, I don't think it is even aware of mods that it knows of that may have been updated my the author.
