Cynical Misanthrope Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 I just wanted to post this video, because I find this incredible cool. I would never play this particular game due to, it's not my style. But lets say, in a FPS, this would be immersive as fuck! I really hope this technology gets expanded upon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qS2gUhy2t8&index=2&list=PLTFohR7GUZYcD8t4bbSKYpnsjMWf19Qgo
windpl Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Well it is not like it is first of it kind, there was alos RTS controlled by voice Tom Clancy something. It is not so popular because most of people feel weird screaming at pc
SweetLittleSister Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 In a FPS, you want voice and hand signals. You're looking at using Kinect and a light gun simultaneously to achieve that, at the very least. Probably a second camera behind the player to give online or LAN team-mates a better view of your signals. LAN would need a very big room. You'd also have to make it sound-sensitive so there were times you didn't want to make noise by talking. People would find a way around it with two separate microphones, wouldn't they?

JMKAM Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I remember this being used for a PS2 game back in the day and it got good reviews for it's ingenuity but it was just too far ahead of it's time and couldn't function properly.
SweetLittleSister Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 So, er, screaming obscenities at the PC isn't normal?
windpl Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Well it is not like it is first of it kind, there was alos RTS controlled by voice Tom Clancy something. It is not so popular because most of people feel weird screaming at pc Funny, I was actually thinking of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon/Rainbow Six games, where this would be really cool to use Im not sure but in one of those you could use voice commands but only for starters like you planed apha move and you could say in execution "alpha go". But I'm not sure maybe it is my imagination. So, er, screaming obscenities at the PC isn't normal? Scream raging on pc is totally different thing
