Enabling animations with new creatures

There's a mod called Monster Mod that adds a bunch of new monsters to Skyrim and another here on LL that adds dicks to them. I was going to make it all Creature Framework friendly, but then realized that there's no point if you can't have sex with the monsters. 

 

There's a bunch of monsters which, if I understand right, are a different skin on an existing skeleton, e.g. drakes are built on the wolf skeleton. That means that all the wolf animations can be used to animate the drake rather then having to do a bunch of special stuff. So in theory, SL animations for wolves could be used to let them have sex, right? But right now I think SL is not recognizing them as an animatable race--the matchmaker spell on them fizzles, which usually means SL couldn't find an animation.

 

So any ideas how to make these creatures recognizable to SL as whatever their base skeleton is? Change their race? Twiddle SL somehow?

Well I now a lot of the new creatures people make use the same skeletons and animations as base creatures. Like a lot of big creatures some mods add use either the werewolf or troll skeleton and base animations. So if any of them use those then they should work as long as you can work out the hooks right.

 

I wish someone would do this with Immersive Creatures mod.

Well, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. But I don't know enough about the underlying mechanisms, and I'm not getting answers to my questions, which lowers motivation for actually doing the work. At this point I know how to give the new creatures boners, and I mostly have boners to give them... but the matchmaker spells fizzle on them and until I work that out there's no point in going further.

Well I don't know exactly how the hook mechanic works, but hopefully someone that does will post here. With both of us posting in this thread will hopefully draw more attention to it.

I have used the mod myself and when it has creatures based on a preexisting type that rape your character through defeat, the mod is able to "strip" them of their skin while the animations occur.  Like one of the fire things was based on a Falmer and that's what it became until the sex ended.  Have you tried using matchmaker on "skinned" creatures, or just the completely new ones?  Like the bear cubs, for instance, which become full sized bears during sex?  If it works on a bear cub, tundra wolf, or any of the skins but not on the unique creatures, you know it has something to do with the new creature's code.  If it doesn't work on any of them, it's a mechanic of the mod.

I've been running around with an Irresistably Attractive spell loaded. When I meet a new creature, I zap it and see if it takes. Mostly it fizzles. One creature was skinned as some sort of drake variant but showed up as a wolf in the UI, so must have been using a wolf race, but Sexlab wasn't having any of it anyway. 

 

Maybe at some point I'll open up Sexlab and see if I can figure it out, but right now I'm having too much fun with Untamed.

Interesting.  It obviously has to do with how the attractive spell works in code then.  They are semi capable of sex as I've mentioned my experiences using Defeat, but Attractive has no effect on them.  So this means that the code in Defeat attempts sex no matter what has beaten you.  In the case of unique creatures that can't rape you, they just occassionally kill you instead...  That's just how it works (assuming you have creatures turned on).  But where defeat forces it to happen, not caring if you're jamming a square peg into a circular hole (a matter of speech, not physical action thank god) Attractive must have something in the code that can only recognize certain creatures.  But I'm not enough of a coder/developer to put the time and effort into figuring it out.  If you opened the two mods/talked with their designers, you may discover a difference.  But that is all the advice I can give you.

Mmm... I don't think you're right. Those are the matchmaker spells and they're really generic. I think all they do is hand subject and object off to SL and say "make sex happen". If the spell fizzles it's because SL answered back that there are no animations involving that creature. So that's the check that needs to be fixed or made happy.

Maybe you're right. You're probably better informed than I am on the subject as this seems to be of great interest to you and I've never designed my own mod.  All I know is that, for sure, Defeat triggers sex scenes that apparently Matchmaker can't.  Good luck though, I'd be one of the first to download if you succeed.

Yeah? What have you seen Defeat do that MM can't? Defeat tends to trigger aggressive animations whereas MM is more generic, but that's the only difference I know of.
