Troubles with armor converted in 3ds Max

I haven't converted anything in a while, so I've forgotten some of the basics of converting armors. I tried converting an armor and then exporting it, and I screwed something up a long the way because the armor does not appear in my inventory when I add it via console, and if I try to force equip it the game crashes. I'm not exactly sure what's wrong.

 

Here's the "armor": Cuirass_1.nif Could anyone give me a hand?

If the armor doesn't appear in your inventory, then it's probably a problem with how it's set up in CK, not the mesh itself.

 

Try replacing the mesh of an armor that works with this one, and see if this one loads in game. If so, then you know it's a problem with the CK entry, and not the mesh.

 

 

If the game still crashes, then look first into the skeleton, then to hdt (if you use it), and lastly to the bsdismemberskin assignment.

It's not a problem with the CK entry, as I tried the same entry with working meshes and the broken mesh with another working CK entry. The item spawned in my inventory, but crashed as I tried to equip it. The skeleton isn't the problem since I am using the latest version of XPSME and HDT. Both parts are set to Skyrim, Main Body in the BSDismemberSkinModifier, so I don't think that's the problem either. I'm thinking that I either screwed something up with export, or using the Conform Brush tool screwed it up somehow because I never had this problem when I did not use that tool, but I still can't seem to find the problem.

OK, change the following settings in both branch of the legs mesh:

UV Scale: X=1, Y=1

Emissive Multiple = 1

Texture Clamp Mode= Wrap_S, Wrap_T

 

Then test in game.

No go, still crashes.

it could possibly be a dirty skeleton that happens to me when I go to equip a piece of armor & it crashes as soon as I equip it then I'll go back into my 3dsmax or Blender & change the mesh & add a new skeleton.
