VATROU Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 So one wrong click was all it took. Now the question is will Norton be able to remove the Fake FBI warning virus. The one that locks your internet browser. Or am I just overreacting? It happened on my old and cheap laptop.
clintreaver Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 That's the Ukash scam. There's a couple of ways to deal with this - Malwarebytes worked for me. See this advice here: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/remove-police-trojan/ Apparently this isn't a true virus but will lock your browser via java I think but the link above worked for me.
LordJerle Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 You can get an antiviral prescription from your doctor, although it may just be a fungus that can be treated with anti-fungal cream. Should visit the doctor just in case and get a test done, maybe get some antibiotics to be on the safe side. Oh... you meant computer virus. Yeah, what Clint said.

AwfulArchdemon Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Just open your Task Manager and End Task on the Warning. Your browser will definitely close, but that's the worst of it. You haven't been infected. It's only temporary until you disable the script via End Task in the Applications tab of the Task Manager.
