Zeta09 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Oh this is infernally annoying!! Here are the pertinent mods I have regarding this issue: -CBBE v 3.3 -HDT Physics Extension -XP32 Max skeleton -CHCBC Physics Mod -CBBE Armors -Immersive Armors I just want to use the custom body I created and it be the DEFAULT body for NPCs and my character I have Mod Organizer so the Virtual Folders are created and the Overwrite folder SHOULD have the final meshes/textures to be seen in game. BS 2 creates the .Nif files for the custom female body and I do a batch build of the armors/clothing for that preset. I put them All in the overwrite folder I don't see any of this in game. I have copied them over to the CBBE folder and nothing I have put them BACK into the Caliente Tools folder that is created in the OverWrite Folder of Mod Organizer and nothing. I see NONE of this in game. One thing of note. For my character (PC) ONCE I GET INVOLVED WITH A SEX SCENE (SexLab is installed) THEN THE PROPORTIONS OF THE BODY CHANGE AND it is closer to my preset. This worked for me before but I had to reinstall my Skyrim and the Mods so now I am at a loss for how to correct it and I'm very frustrated as I've tried moving the created meshes and .nif files EVERYWHERE logical I can think of with no solution Please help
TnTTnT Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 For armor, they has their own folder for each armor so you cannot just copy them from to CBBE or Tool folder. If you use batch build in BS2 and cannot get them in game, you have done something wrong when install that armor mods. Uninstall all problematic armor mod and try to install them again one by one. One more info, skip/uninstall CHSBHC if you use Bodyslide and HDT-PE.
Zeta09 Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 Ok I have calmed down and gotten some rest. Although I DID seem to solve the issues I had I want to post to make it CLEAR for others who may have had the same frustration or are not familiar with how Mod Organizer works with Skyrim and how that matters. Here are the pertinent mods I have installed related to this issue -CBBE v3.3 Beta -CBBE TBBP Skeleton Fix -Remo'd Armor for CBBE -HDT Physics -XP 32 Max skeleton For those familiar with Mod Organizer (and one of it bonuses), then you should know that it creates a virtual directory of which all the mods are installed and thus any changes need to be managed through the MO program. Skyrim's original Data folder remains UNTOUCHED throughout any installs OTHER than updates from Steam itself. Keeping this in mind the Mod Organizer has all of the .BSA, .ESM. ESP files in it's virtual directory. When CBBE is installed it has all the original body types and from whatever was chosen in the original install under it's meshes and textures folder. Although BodySlide is included in this original install it DOES NOT HAVE AN EFFECT yet on ANY of the in game body types. Mod Organizer creates a Caliente Tools folder in it's already created "Overwrite" folder which has a "Scripts", "SKSE", "tools" and whatever else has been created or adapted to be overwritten during play Once BS/BS2 is opened and you begin to create a body the default locations are to place all the builds/presets in the Skyrim/Data folder but even IF you were to create them and press the button they WILL NOT SHOW UP there (I've tried it many times believe me....ugh). For the "Save Preset" and "Batch Build" buttons you can hold CRTL while you press and the program will give you the option to save the created files wherever you would like. The large BUILD button at the bottom will, when CRTL is held, will place it's .NIF files in the last saved location. The Batch Build files, however seem to hold the key with it's .NIF files as they are adjusted to the Remodeled (Remo'd) Armor that can be batch built with whatever body you have created. They will typically be placed in the SliderPresets/Meshes Folder and w/in the Meshes folder SHOULD be all the newly remo'd armor WITH it's subsequent newly created body .NIF files. THIS THEN WILL NEED TO BE COPIED to the Overwrite Meshes folder and THUS THAT SHOULD provide whatever changes IN GAME that were made through BS 2. Although I may be completely missing it in all the numerous (10+) tutorials and .PDFs out there on the Net it was never clearly explained or illustrated where EXACTLY the files need to be for things to work. I am not placing blame as they needed to make a generic tutorial for people who may be using NMM or no mod manager at all. I believe now I have done that (through HOURS of trial and error let me tell you). I noticed the changes in my PC body and then experimented further with minor tweaks to see the differences in game. So far so good.... One thing of note. When I did re-install the Remo'd CBBE armor those necessary mesh files in it's subgroup of Preset folders (ShapeData, SliderPresets etc) needed to be copied over to BS2's (in the Overwrite/CalienteTools/BS2/etc) so that the meshes/armors could all be batch built for whatever body was created. I am unsure if this is because BS2 is NOT it's own mod (which it is NOT in my install) or whether that is the reason you install it into Mod Organizer as it's own mod. If someone could please clarify this it would be much appreciated. Now. I do have other questions. 1) Previously when the changes I made in the Race creation menu when I would put Glutes to 3 and it did not show up initally in the creation menu (base CBBE body) but once a sex event occurred the changes were PAINFULLY apparent to my dismay and shock. Does anyone know why that is? 2) BS 2 is it's own separate download now but some are reporting that BS 2 IS w/in the install of CBBE 3.3 now? 3) are varying suggestions/tutorials suggesting that BS2 be installed into Mod Organizer as it's own entry for things to show up. Although this still may be true I am unaware of what this will do as far as files and placement go. Can someone explain this? 4) I had installed the CHSBHC Body Physics Mod because some had reported it was required and now many are saying it's not? So I will disengage but I am wondering what changed? I apologize for the near rant tone of this post but I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO frustrated with all this after posting last month and inquiring about the placement of files in BS 2/Outtit Studio with little explanation. I did not attempt to offend anyone then (or so I thought) nor am I attempting now. I am just happy to contribute with any confusion that others may have. I wound up having to re-install Skyrim and realized that the previous working setup I had prior was quite fragile. At least to this point, I THINK I'm good to go. We'll see. Happy gaming!
TnTTnT Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 2) BS always included in CBBE download. However, sometime CBBE and BS update are not synced. 3) I install CBBE (which has BS included). The only thing that really needed are to create executable (use gear icon) for BS (select the correct path of the exe) and run it from MO. 4) Most guide instruct you to install CHSBHC for its BBP skeleton, there is no need if you use XPMSE. You don't even need CBBE TBBP Skeleton Fix. What I can say, in short - Install CBBE 3.3 or BS 2.2 in MO - Create exe of BS in MO - Run BS in MO using the executable you just create - Build body, single armor one by one or batch build armor - You are good to go, no need to copy any mesh from/to overwrite folder - Order of mod installed shown in left panel are significant. Files in lower position mods will overwrite files (with same name even they are compress in bsa).
Zeta09 Posted January 23, 2015 Author Posted January 23, 2015 Alright. Then when the files are saved/created where are the saved to? I am imagining that BECAUSE the BS is an exe whatever is created is added to the game? I DO need to find out more about OutFit Studio as there are a few armors for the build body that are not simpatico. Is there a Good tutorial that is succinct? Also any recs/sugg for the four final questions I had on the previous post? Thanks for the replies
TnTTnT Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 The files should be saved in their respective mod folder, either body or armor. Which 4 question, I answer 3 of them didn't I? Have no idea for the 1st one.
Zeta09 Posted January 27, 2015 Author Posted January 27, 2015 IDK TnTTnt Which "respective mod folder"? When those Batch armors are created for whatever body that is fashioned. It goes into the BS2/Slider Presets/meshes which is further broken down into the actors, armors, clothes, dlc01 and dlc02 folders I'm sure I COULD put them somewhere else where that else is is the question. From there I would imagine IF you have the BS2 as a mod in MO then perhaps you can keep them in the BS2 folder and they will be active in game but I am telling you just creating them and then starting up Skyrim they did not show up. I am SURE I am missing something. IDK what That's why I am still hoping to get one of these BS2 gurus to let me know. So FAR the only way it has worked for me is to have the Meshes folder in the Overwrite Folder of MO. I have re-watched Gamer Poets BS2 install and have attempted to read some more tutorials again and still no clarity. Please advise
TnTTnT Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 For my game, I use Remodeled Armor for CBBE Bodyslide TBBP HDT 5-1 and when I batch build the armor with BS2 -> All rebuilt armor get updated to its repective folder under this mod folder. C:\Program Files\Mod Organizer\mods\Remodeled Armor for CBBE Bodyslide TBBP HDT 5-1\meshes
Zeta09 Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Hmmm.... So it's in the Armor Mod itself.... I DID copy the armor files over to my Overwrite/CT/BS2/ where it had the four folders for Sliders/Group Data etc. I can see how that would work. Thank you for the clarification I'll play around with it and see what I see......
TnTTnT Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 FYI, my overwrite armor folder are empty. C:\Program Files\Mod Organizer\overwrite\meshes\armor
guk Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I only recently switched to MO, and would suggest watching Gopher's videos how to use it properly. For produced files from mods like BS2 you can simply drag&drop them on their respective mod entries (just as they appear in overwrite, with their folder structure) and you'll never hear from them again. E.g. MO always puts them automatically in those mod folders, every time you build outfits in BS2. If you copied anything manually to any special folders, you're doing something completely wrong.
chajapa Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I use remodeled armor for CBBE as well... and MO. When I batch-build the armor I hold down CNTRL key. Then it asks you where you want the files to go. I choose a folder OUTSIDE of MO. In fact I have a folder just for BS output. Hold CNTRL, batch build, when it asks where you want them, put them in a folder with a name that makes sense in your mod list (Remodeled-Armor-BS-<body preset>). Now ZIP that folder and install it like a mod... AFTER any body and after the original Remodeled Armor. So now the new NIFs overwrite the originals and you have your BS'ed armor. I keep NOTHING in the overwrite folder. I have like... 15 different profiles using different bodies, armor, and different combinations of mods. By doing it this way I can have remodeled armor for different body presets depending on which profile I'm playing. Same with bodies. Profile 1 may have CBBE Slim as default vanilla body, but I can have a custom CBE body for my Succubus race... things like that. MO makes it possible to have many combinations and many different .... sizes... of armor.
Zeta09 Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 Ok. This is the type of discussion I was hoping to have. It's entirely possible that my MO is incorrectly setup as I have Scripts, Meshes, SKSE, Caliente Tools and Tools (FNIS) folders in my overwrite. I'll watch the Gopher vid again. I'll also play around with Chajapa's idea (I like that concept) and report back. Thanks for the responses
IceT_1980 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 MO is good for some basic mods, like HDT. But if u are creating armors etc. i would use the manually way with the Explorer. There are also some guides who can help you with that. You just need to know where you have to save it. I have also started with MO, but now i don't use it anymore. I copy and move everything manually and have no problems w that.
Zeta09 Posted February 12, 2015 Author Posted February 12, 2015 I see. I DO like (conceptually and in practice) the usage of Mod Organizer's Virtual directory (Gopher loves it as well as he started with NMM and went to MO currently) as it provides maximum flexibility with any number of Mods and the usage of it's profiles. But I haven't begun to dwelve into the Armors and Clothing side of modding.....yet. That IS on the horizon for me as I continue my playthrough while learning and enjoying the game. For now I am just attempting to learn and master all the files and what can be done within the games' engine (I am fairly surprised with the amount of realism the SexLab mods have....Kudos to those Modders and their work!)I have learned more about the Overwrite folder and what it can do and what its for. Mine is now cleared. The Remodded Armor Folder has been the source of all the changes and thus I have toyed with and made changes to the female .nif files there when I want adjust things. I am curious then IF I did not have the Remodded Armor mod then what would be the default folder for keeping the .nif files but for now I am pleased with where my Modded game is and am going to play through with these settings for a while before I experiment again. Thanks again for all the responses
