First of all, this mod http://www.loverslab.com/topic/22395-wip-skykids-child-races-other-technical-goodies-updatedbetter-instructionsfaq111614/adds playable children, a better child race (races, actually), and a child replacer (which unfortunately does not replace Babette).  http://www.loverslab.com/topic/33192-skykids-child-npc-replacer-alternative/  This is an alternative child replacer that uses the same base mod, which does include Babette.  However, currently, I am using the former replacer, and based on screenshots, I actually prefer it over the latter.  However, as I said, the former does not include Babette.  Would it be possible to create a standalone Babette replacer (using the Skykids base mod) or at the very least, extract the Babette files from the latter in order to make a standalone replacer from that?  Obviously, if SpyderArachnid does not want people to use his mod's resources or would like to do so himself, I will retract this request.  If you're going to just use SpyderArachnid's resources as a standalone mod, then that's fine (obviously, give credit to him), but if you are going to create your own Babette replacer for SkyKids, I would prefer it if you based in it on http://www.pixiv.net/member_illust.php?mode=medium&illust_id=37609653or you could do it originally on your own.  Regardless, I would also prefer it if this did not require any extra hair packs, like what SpyderArachnid currently has.

Ive never actually used this particular mod, but I have to ask, why chose this one over Children of the Sky (the one that I use)? Does it have better facial customization or anything that makes it stand out? Anyhoo, for what you are asking, the best I can offer or suggest to you is XVision Children, I actually haven't turned it off since I first got it.

Edit, looking at his page it appears it has a playable races section and a vnilla children section? Two different downloads? If it were me, I would get the main file for the playable races, and XVision of the NPCs

From what I understand, Children of the Sky only adds a "child race", not a Nord child race, a Dunmer child race, an Argonian child race, etc. while SkyKids adds all of that.

RCOTS has a friend-children pack that replaces all the kids... including Babette. I haven't played through to where you meet her, yet, so I don't know what the replaced version looks like, but Glouf does really well with the replaced kids.

RCOTS has High Elves, Wood Elves, Argonians, Khajiit, Orc, Demon, and human children races. Variations of human or other elves (like dark elves) are done by changing the skin and heads of pre-existing child races. Oh, and you have vampire versions of all the playable child races. You also have a few add-on races in optional mods for RCOTS: Snow Elves, Angels, and the Avatar race... the blue bunny race... whatever they're called. :)

Well, I'm already quite invested in SkyKids, so I suppose that's a bit of brand loyalty on my part, but I just find it weird that Babette is the only one not replaced.

I think some folks forget about her since you don't meet her at all unless you play the Dark Brotherhood quest (from either side). The other one people tend to miss is the one from the Sybil of Dibella quest, Fjotra. One I never noticed for the LONGEST time is the innkeeper's daughter in Winterhold - she's ALWAYS in the basement, so I never met her in any of my play-throughs.

But the Dark Brotherhood is a fairly popular guild, right?

True, but if you play the good guy, perhaps you did like I did the first few times and sneaked through shooting the DB from ambush. Sneaky archers don't get a good look at their targets if you kill from a range. I never realized Babette was a child-type character until I saw it on a wiki page somewhere despite having wiped out the DB several times. Especially if you're using a lighting mod and then using night vision to counteract the extra dark interiors. I simply shot anything that moved in the DB headquarters since I knew they were all bad guys. With 70+ sneak and a good bow or crossbow, you can kill NPCs from far enough way to not even tell what race they are... just be careful you aren't shooting a good guy! :D

Makes sense, it kind of looked like SkyKids was kind of complicated so I never went with it, but yeah, they need a Dark Elf kid in RCoTS

Well, most people have done at least one Dark Brotherhood run by now, right?  The game's been out for at least 3 years.  Regardless, I believe we're getting off-topic.

Babette is simply not modified at all in the mod you're using, yes? Can you not simply load the new one first and your current one second, so that all of the other children modified by the second mod is overwritten by your current one, but Babette is left alone because your mod makes no edits to her?

While that seems like kind of a sloppy fix, it is currently my only choice.  Would you happen to know if the Babette of the alternate replacer uses Oblivion Hair or Apachii hair?  One of the reasons that I didn't want to get the alternate replacer is because I don't want to install extra hair packs, but if it turns out that I have to, I still want to keep it to minimum.  Obviously, Babette, being only 1 character, would use, at most, only 1 extra hair pack (if at all).  Do you happen to know which one, if any?  Although, regardless of this temp fix (which I may or may not implement), my request to create a standalone Babette replacer, which is not dependent on any other mods, save for the stuff needed to play SkyKids normally, is still open.  I learned from modding and playing Oblivion that having too many mods be dependent on each other will often cause a "domino effect", if only one glitches.

I have no idea, as I use a different depotatofier mod for my youths of Skyrim, but even if the alternate Babette's hair is from one mod, you still need both mods installed just to load the ESP without crashing.

Hey, so I don't know if you're still following this thread, but I made a standalone Babette replacer as I was thinking the same thing as you. It's located at nexusmods .com /skyrim/mods/69510/?

Hope that's what you wanted! :)
