user619 Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Does anyone know how to remove all gloss or reduce the gloss from an armor in Nifskope?
myuhinny Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Make a back up of the nifs then load each nif up 1 at a time click each piece and find the BSLightingShaderProperty below the highlighted line click the arrow to the left of the line to get the drop down and look for glossiness float double click the number and change it to whatever you want 1000.0000 is 10.0000 might be minimum not sure I never go lower then that.. Make sure to save as to overwrite the nif. What you do to one nif has to be done to the other nif as well and has to match otherwise nothing will change in game. Though you might not want to remove all gloss though as the outfit might not look good if you do.
rahrahrah Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Not entirely accurate, specular strength is what defines how shiny the piece is - play with values, reducing all the way to zero for no shine whatsoever, or something like 4 or 5 for super shiny but not reflective (environment map style) Of course the alpha channel on the normal map also affects shine to a degree. Glossiness is more to do with the "intensity" of the shine.
