Apahguinsimo Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 I have an odd issue with a group of custom races from a mod I found. For some reason they all have strange black spots covering their eyes. They look like they have no eyes at all. At certain angles and distances, these spots disappear and the eyes are clearly visible. Turning off the ENB makes the black spots much thinner, but they are certainly still there. Even on a minimal mod order with nothing but the mod itself running, I still get the spots. It doesn't matter what eyes I select. The vanilla and modded eyes seem to be even worse, as the eyelashes look like the eyes are up in the forehead. Some screenshots of the problem: With ENB Without ENB At certain angles, the spots disappear entirely. The problem is present even on NPC follower versions of the races. Any suggestions on why this would be happening and how to fix it would be truly beloved by me. Thanks.
myuhinny Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 ENB's always make things darker in dark areas. Your screen shots are indoors. From the looks of it I would say that it is a shadow thing. The first picture of your certain angles shots shows the right eye but if you look at the left eye it is where the shadows are and thus it is black. The 2nd one is more to the side and there are no shadows from that angle. Have you tried looking at what the eyes look like outside and not inside?
Apahguinsimo Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 I tried it outside and it is much, much better but I can still see a tiny bit of darkness over the eyes. However with the darkness mostly gone now I see a new problem. The eyes look strange around the nose area, as if part of them is overlapping or something. Even while indoors and standing in the exact same position as the first post where the eyes were black, under different lighting conditions the blackness will be gone. For instance: When I use showracemenu or change some of the sliders, the character turns into Hellraiser. It is truly disturbing. So, any ideas on why some lighting conditions and shadows are causing this to happen to the eyes, and seemingly only to the eyes, and only on these custom races? Finally, any idea why the character's face becomes a horrific mess when re-entering character creation via showracemenu?
myuhinny Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Well we need to see your load order to see what you all have installed into your game as it could be caused by anything but without a load order it is next to impossible to be able to say what might be causing it.
Apahguinsimo Posted December 2, 2014 Author Posted December 2, 2014 Those screenshots were taken with a minimal load order. Aside from the DLCs, I had nothing but that mod and Alternate Start running. Also Project ENB. Maybe if someone wants to try the mod for themselves, here is the mod page and the download link.
Apahguinsimo Posted December 3, 2014 Author Posted December 3, 2014 Any ideas on what causes this? It happens even with no other mods enabled. I'm using Mod Organizer too, so nothing could really be in the Skyrim directory messing it up. The comments section seems to talk about eye problems, but Google translate isn't so ace with Japanese so I can't figure out what's being said.
